The Wallingford YMCA Dolphins (WFYD-CT) strives to make your swimmer’s safety and protection our highest priority. By working together as coaches, swimmers, parents, and volunteers we can ensure all members are supported in a safe and encouraging environment both in and out of the pool.

Where to start with a concern:
- If you need to report a concern of sexual misconduct, please contact your local law enforcement agency and the U.S. Center for SafeSport. You can make a report to the U.S. Center for SafeSport by calling 833-5US-SAFE (587-7233) or by visiting www.uscenterforsafesport.org/report-a-concern/.
- Additionally Safe Sport concerns can be reported to USA Swimming by calling (719) 866-4578, text anonymous tips to 888-270-SWIM (7946) or through USA Swimming’s online reporting form at www.usaswimming.org/report.
- For further guidance visit USA Swimming's Deal with a Safe Sport Concern page.
Training:
- 18/O Athlete Protection Training (ATP) For Athletes
- The Athlete Protection Training Requirement for Adult Athletes went into effect on June 23, 2019. The APT requirement for swimmers aged 18 and above will be universally enforced at all sanctioned and approved meets going forward. See directions above for accessing the course.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Swimmers 17 and older should create their own login in SWIMS 3.0 so when they turn 18 they can take the APT course which can be found under the Education toolbar tab in SWIMS 3.0. (Directions for Athletes taking the APT course via SWIMS 3.0.)
- Athletes may take the course at any time - they need not wait until their 18th birthday. They should, however, keep in mind that the course is only good for one year from date of completion, so the earlier it is taken, the sooner it will have to be taken again.
- On April 20, 2021 the USA Swimming Safe Sport office made available the following slides/videos to the general public for viewing. The topics include:
