Dear Zeus Families & Friends,

We are writing today to announce the launch of our Zeus Scholarship Fund and ask that you consider donating and helping give families in need the opportunity to be part of our amazing program.

The Zeus Swim Team has called Norwalk, CT home for over sixty years, making us one of the longest tenured programs in the state.  Throughout that time, it’s been our mission to “develop and support a diverse community of competitive youth swimmers who gain lifelong skills and overall health and wellness through active lifestyles in a family-focused and safe team environment.”

The impact and benefit of our sport and team cannot be understated – friendship, discipline, health and wellness, camaraderie, confidence and teamwork are just some of what’s gained by being a part of our program and the sport of swimming.  But to participate, as many well know, our sport does come with a significant financial cost.

While many of us are fortunate to be able to afford the sport, there are many families at risk of missing out on what Zeus offers, due to financial hardships they are facing.  In aiming to fulfill the mission you just read above, it’s been part of our fabric to do everything in our power to ensure all swimmers, regardless of their financial situation, have a chance to experience the sport of swimming, and more importantly, the Zeus Swim Team.

That’s why we’ve started the Zeus Scholarship Fund and are appealing to those able to contribute a monetary donation to help offset the cost of our great program for those that need it most.

READY TO HELP A FAMILY IN NEED?

How do I donate?
At the bottom of this letter, there is a form to complete, where you can indicate the amount you’re willing to contribute.  Any contribution helps and no amount is too small!  Once we’ve received your contribution commitment, we will follow up with payment instructions.

Where will my money go?

Your money will be held in a separate, not-for-profit, 501c3 organization, earmarked for this purpose only.  Any donations made are tax deductible to the full extent of the law - we will provide a receipt for your tax purposes.

How will the money be distributed?

Our fundraising and scholarship committees, led by Zeus parents Jen Cunniffe and Jamie Behr, will have oversight of the fund and will work with committee members to review requests for need and award accordingly.

We are so grateful for our Zeus community and your willingness to consider donating.  We look forward to the growth of this fund, announcing future fundraising initiatives, and supporting families that need it most.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Jen Cunniffe, Fundraising Committee Chair

Jamie Behr, Scholarship Committee Chair
