Coaches and Directors
The 2025-26
season will be Dennis's 22nd year with Zeus and his 9th as
Head Coach. He will work with all groups, focusing on Senior 1 and
2, and Lightning. Dennis has over 25 years of experience as a
swimmer, instructor, and coach. Under his leadership, the team has
achieved significant success, producing Age Group and Senior Open
Champions, as well as Sectional, Futures, Jr. National, and World
Championship qualifiers. He has been recognized as the Connecticut
Age Group Coach of the Year and is the Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion chair on the Connecticut board of
directors.
Returning for his 4th season, Eric brings over 20 years of coaching experience, primarily from Brazil, where he produced 21 State, 13 Brazilian, and 2 South American Champions. Since joining Zeus, he has produced Age Group qualifiers, Connecticut Age Group Champions, and Senior Open qualifiers. He was also the primary coach for Stephan Steverink, a world-ranked junior swimmer who won a gold medal at the FINA Junior World Championships. As a swimmer, Eric was a FINA World Cup Finalist. His focus will be on Senior 1, Senior 2, and Advanced Age Group.
This will be Coach Tony’s 6th season with Zeus, where he will continue to lead our Rockets squad. Tony began his swimming career 8 years ago as an instructor with the Norwalk Parks & Recreation aquatics program. He has continued teaching at Velo-CT and has run the facility’s successful Rec Team for the last two seasons. Tony is also a Private Lesson Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor. He enjoys instilling a love for swimming in his athletes and is excited to be on deck with Zeus again.
We are excited to have Kristin return for her third year with Zeus. Kristin has an impressive swimming background, setting state and national records while at Orange Coast College before competing for Florida Atlantic University. She previously served as an assistant coach for the Stamford Sharks from 1999-2005 and will be working with the Age Group swimmers.
We are thrilled to welcome Jorge to the Zeus Swim Team for his second season, where he'll be our lead coach for the Age Group swimmers. Born in the Dominican Republic, he was a competitive swimmer who represented his country in high-level international meets, including the Pan American Games. As a coach, Jorge holds an ASCA Level 4 International Coach certification and has coached national record-breakers and athletes who qualified for international championships. He has also produced many Age Group qualifiers during his time at the Stamford JCC.
We are delighted to welcome back Mateo for his second year on the Zeus coaching staff. Mateo’s swimming journey began with Zeus in 2007. He was a captain of the Norwalk/McMahon boys swim team, where he demonstrated strong leadership and coaching skills. He continued his academic and athletic journey at Syracuse University, earning a B.S. in Television, Radio, and Film while competing on the university’s club swim team. He also served as a Peer Educator at the campus wellness center. Mateo previously worked as a swim instructor and assistant coach for Norwalk's Parks and Recreation and has coached the Rec Team at Velo-CT. He will be working with the High School Prep group.
We are excited to welcome Rachel to our coaching staff as our lead Thunder Coach. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and is currently a Special Education Teacher at Kendall College and Career Academy in Norwalk, CT. She has been passionate about swimming since age six, having competed for Roxbury, the Darien Y Piranhas, and the Darien High School swim teams. Rachel works at Roxbury as an Assistant Swim Coach. Her goal is to foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment where swimmers can grow in skill, confidence, and character.
This will be Tracey's fourth year with Zeus as our pilates/yoga/stretch coach. She helps our swimmers balance the hard work in the pool with a mind-body connection to prevent injury, strengthen their core, and improve flexibility. Tracey was a multi-sport high school athlete and an honorable All-American swimmer who went on to play Division 1 Field Hockey and Lacrosse for Bucknell University. She competed in the 1995 NYC marathon, placing 3rd for Pennsylvania. From 1995-2003, she coached town and high school lacrosse in Connecticut.
This will be Bill's fifth season with Zeus. With over 20 years of high-level competitive coaching experience, Bill leads our operations as Team Administrator. He has held positions as Head Age Group Coach at Rapids Swim Team and Head Coach at Pace University. In addition to his coaching history, Bill is a professor at Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business.
