13 and over

Description:
N1 Team is for high school-aged swimmers who are highly experienced at age group/senior level of competitive swimming.  Swimmers are skilled in all four competitive strokes , they will train and compete at meets trying to gain national-level status and want to be part of the National Team.  In addition, swimmers will be asked to participate in one or more travel meets per year where they will stay overnight in the area if they have the time standards and practice attendance requirements.  Advance stroke technique and race strategy will be emphasized.

Swimmers must be able to make 15 x 100 @1:25 Freestyle,10x100 kick @2:00 and 6x200 medley @3:15.

At this level, swimmers need to help mentor the younger swimmers when necessary at meets or at practices

Pre-Assessment:
Swimmers must demonstrate the following skills:

  • 100 and 200 yards on Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle with competitive starts and turns.
  • 500 and 1000 Freestyle with competitive starts and turns.
  • 200 and 400 yards individual medley with transitions turns.

Learning Intention:
Developing better technique and aerobic condition on four strokes and individual medley .

Learning Outcomes:
Learners should be able to consistently demonstrate the following criteria:

  • 100 and 200 yards on Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle with competitive starts and turns.
  • 800/1,000 and 1500/1,650 Freestyle with competitive starts and turns.
  • 200 and 400 yards individual medley with transitions turns.

Lesson duration:
2h:30m max, 8 times per week (including 2x morning practice) plus mandatory dry-land 2x Week and yoga .

Equipment:
Kickboard, Pull Buoy Rubber Swim Fins, Snorkel, Paddles and Parachutes .
