Greg Magness - Greg started competitive swimming for the Fort Smith Swim Team at the age of 9 and in less than a year had broken his first state record in the breaststroke. Through the years as an age grouper, Greg won numerous state championships, held several state, Arkansas Association and Region VIII records and was typically numbered among the nation’s top twenty breaststrokers when he was at the top of his age group. At Southside High School, Greg won 4 individual state titles and as a junior was High School All American in the 100 yard breaststroke and was named the Co-Swimmer of the Year by the Arkansas Gazette. As a Senior, Greg swam on
a relay team that broke 2 American and 2 U.S. Open records for Short Course meters. At the University of Arkansas, he was a 2 year letterman and All-Southwest Conference performer. After his senior year, Greg was named as the first recipient of the Dr. Lon Farrell Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence presented by the Razorback Letterman’s Club. Today, he is a partner with the Fort Smith law firm of Hardin, Jesson and Terry.
