USAS JUSTIFICATION:
To increase transparency and provide LSCs the opportunity to digest information.
It notes the upcoming launch of the Coaching Certification Program and the changes to current member requirements. Specifically,
  • The Foundations of Coaching (FOC) courses will be transitioned to two new and redesigned courses.
  • With this shift, there will be some breaks in mandatory coaching requirements as we finish up our season.
As you will see below, we are recommending to all coaches who have not yet started the Foundations of Coaching course to wait until the September 1 launch. To allow these coaches to continue to be on deck and attend meets, USA Swimming will be extending all FOC requirements until September 1. This temporary change will be made through the current SWIMS database and there will no be action needed on your part.
