Sunrise Swimming offers a variety of levels to benefit all incoming swimmers, whether you are new to the sport or have been involved for many years. Please note that our groups are not based on age alone. Group assignment and advancement to another group will be determined by the coaching staff.
Sometimes an older swimmer who is new to the sport may have to start with a group of younger swimmers. Sometimes a very advanced younger athlete may be moved into a group of older swimmers. The group descriptions below give you a sense of how our team is set up and the progression your child is likely to follow as he/she advances through our program.
Tryout information:
Beginning September 1, 2022, we will be offering tryouts between 4:45-5:45pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Please call the office at 954-747-4635 to make an appointment. One of the coaches will take a few minutes to watch you swim to determine which training group is appropriate for you.
All tryouts take place at the Sunrise Civc Center Pool, located at 10610 West Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, FL.
The basic requirement for our beginning group, Strokes-n-Fun, is that participants must be able to swim across a 25yd pool without help and have an understanding of the 4 competitive strokes.
If your child is not ready for the swim team, we may recommend private and/or group lessons. Please see our Swim Lesson tab for further information.
