Head Coach/Program Director: Liz Kershaw

Liz Kershaw is the Program Director and Head Coach of Hurricane Aquatics, bringing a wealth of experience as both a Division 1 swimmer and coach. A proud alumna of Ohio University, Liz has worked with athletes ranging from learn-to-swim beginners to those competing at Olympic Trials and Internationally.

With a strong background in coaching and athlete management, Liz is passionate about developing well-rounded swimmers both in and out of the pool. As a run-swim athlete, she understands the dedication required for success and is committed to fostering a positive and dynamic environment for every swimmer in the program.

 

Liz's leadership extends beyond coaching, having served as the Age Group Chair for Florida Gold Coast Swimming from 2020 to 2023, as well as USA Swimming Age Grup Committee Chair 2022 to 2024. In addition, Liz has managed several USA Swimming training and competition trips. Liz’s dedication to swimmer development and her extensive experience makes her a key leader within Hurricane Aquatics.

Assistant Coach/Stroke School Manager- Shakira Jaime

With over a decade of competitive swimming experience, including swimming at the collegiate level, she began her journey in the water at just six years old. Her deep love for the sport has only grown over the years, leading her to spend the last three years teaching swim lessons and sharing her knowledge with others. Now transitioning into coaching, she is passionate about helping swimmers build confidence, find joy in the water, and develop a lifelong love for the sport. Her goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where athletes can grow both in and out of the pool.
