Coaches and Directors
Swimming is an amazing team & individual sport. Swimming in HS teaches the benefits of hard work; sportsmanship; disciplince; balancing- school work/school activities/ family swim practice; self- confidence; and many other life lessons.
I really enjoy coaching the HS swimmers as they develop in the pool while having fun with their friends. I find it personally rewarding when I see a swimmer get excited about a personal or team goal regardless if the goal is small or big: mastering a flip turn, achieving a personal best time, swimming on a relay for the first time, advancing to Districts or States, achieveing goal times, swimming a legal breast stroke.... That’s why I continue to coach swimming!

Hello Bobcats! I grew up in Kettering, Ohio. I swam for the
Kettering YMCA and Kettering Fairmont High School, where I held
multiple school records and qualified for Ohio High School States
all four years. I received a scholarship to swim for Miami
University, where I was on the MAC Conference Championship team all
four years and was voted Team Captain my senior year. I
graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and work
for the Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General audit
division.
I absolutely love coaching. I enjoy working with swimmers, of all
abilities, to reach their goals, however “big” or
“small.” I believe each swimmer should feel proud
of their accomplishments. I love fostering an environment
where swimmers can have fun and enjoy their time with friends,
while also learning the importance of hard work, discipline, a
healthy competitive drive, and the joy of exercise that will
benefit them the rest of their lives. I am looking forward to a
great season!

I’m Jack Beatty — a middle school teacher and lifelong swimmer who now lives and works in Columbus. I teach at Rosemore Middle School in Whitehall, Ohio, and I also coach: I’m the Boys Head Coach for the RMS Track & Field team. Coaching and teaching are how I get to combine two things I care about most — helping young people grow, and passing on the lessons swimming taught me.
I started in the water in summer recreation programs, moved into YMCA swimming in middle school, and swam varsity at Avon High School from 2012–2016. I competed
in butterfly and freestyle early on in high school then transitioned to focusing more on distance events by the end of high school, and served as team captain for two years. Those high school years also included Lakeshore Swim Club, where I made lifelong friends. After my high school career I helped start the Avon Eagle Swim Club — our town’s summer recreation team — and I stayed involved as an assistant coach from 2016–2021 before stepping up as head coach in 2022.
I attended Miami University from 2016–2020 and swam on the Club Swim team during my first two years there. After graduating I spent two years teaching up in the Northeast, where I also served as an assistant coach for the Avon High School Swimming & Diving team. In 2022 I moved to Columbus to teach at Rosemore Middle School and to take on new coaching responsibilities with RMS.
Swimming is my passion — it gave me my first several jobs, taught me discipline and sportsmanship, and shaped how I approach teaching and leadership. Over the years I’ve coached swimmers from 4 to 18, and my goal has always been the same: to instill a love of learning, a strong work ethic, and the confidence to keep improving.

Hello Bobcats!
I am grateful and excited to begin as the middle school swim coach. I have a passion for swimming and coaching, and even more now in my own community! I grew up in Alexandria, VA and moved to Ohio for pharmacy school. I graduated Ohio Northern in 2017 and have worked as a pharmacist for OhioHealth for the last 5 years. My wife Rachel and I moved to Grandview in summer 2021.
I enjoy working with swimmers of all ages to help them achieve their goals. I firmly believe in the importance of commitment--to your team, to your coaches, to your support systems, and to yourself and your goals! My coaching style is lighthearted and fun, but with an importance on discipline and hard work. I am looking forward to a great season!
