Practice Schedule Update

 

With the storms coming in this afternoon and adjustments being made to the chemicals for the new system, we are canceling all practices and dryland this afternoon/evening.

City Meet July 12-13th

Thursday, July 11th, set up  - Since we are hosting this meet of 800 swimmers and their families, we need a lot of help setting up. We need everyone to report to the Ft. Oglethorpe pool for set up at 5:00 pm.  We will need help setting up tables/chairs, tents, etc. Food/drink donations will be set up in the Hospitality room. This is the time for new families to set up your crash area for Friday.  We are working on some new ideas for our club-wide crash area.  More details will follow so you will know what to bring.

 

We still need many volunteers. Please go to the Swimtopia app or website and sign up to help. At this time, we only have 11 people signed up, and we need 90 more.

Banquet – Tuesday, July 16th

Location DHS Commons 6:00 pm: We are having pizzas brought in this year.  There is a sign-up list of what we need on Swimtopia. Families are welcome. Since we are ordering pizzas this year, we need to know a number to plan for. Please text your RSVP to 904-874-0821 by Monday, July 15th at 1:00 pm. There is no particular dress code. Some swimmers like to dress up for it, but it’s not required. We will let the kids play in the pool for a while after the banquet is over.

 

 

GRPA State 

Congratulations to all of our State qualifiers. State championships will take place at Columbus Aquatic Center in Columbus, GA.

Preliminaries for all age groups will be Friday, July 19th. Finals for all age groups will be Saturday, July 20th.

We do not have the warm-up schedule yet, but we can anticipate warm-ups starting around 7:30 am on both days. As soon as we receive it, we will send it to you.

Competition will start at 9:00 both days.

The Top 8 finishers in each individual event and relay event will advance to the Finals on Saturday.

 

*The one exception is if an event has 8 entries or fewer. That event will be a timed final on Friday, and the swimmers will not swim it on Saturday. When the psych sheet comes out, I’ll be able to tell you whether your swimmer’s event falls into this category.
