Dalton Dolphins at Waterdogs Monday Night

Please remember we are still swimming at the Waterdogs' pool on Monday night. We couldn't be sure our pool would be ready for a meet, and we didn't want to cancel another meet. Be sure to bring snacks and drinks. They will not have concessions.

City Meet Set-up and Practice

We need everyone to report to the Fort Oglethorpe pool for set-up at 5:00 pm. We will need help setting up tables/chairs, tents, etc. Food/drink donations will be set up in the Hospitality room. This is when families can set up their crash area for Friday. We are working on some new ideas for our club-wide crash area. The signup list of drink donations we need for the hospitality room is open on Swimtopia, where you sign up to volunteer.

Directions

We will run a practice for all swimmers from 6:00-7:00ish pm.

City Meet Updated Information

Now that we have entries from all teams, we have a more accurate timeline. The updated schedule is below. Please be aware the schedule may be altered due to the weather. This is a championship meet; we want to place as high as possible. Please make sure to attend finals if your swimmer or their relay advances. Please only leave prelims after confirming your swimmer or their relay has not advanced to the finals. The top 16 finishers in individual events and the top 8 relays will advance to finals. The following individual events are timed final events, which means they only swim during prelims.

Volunteers Still Needed for City Meet

This is where I start to beg for help. We are getting down to crunch time. This year's City Meet has 861 swimmers, and we will need every family on the team to help run the meet. Many people who have already volunteered have signed up for multiple positions over the weekend. It's time for everyone else to fill in the open positions. I understand you may be nervous or wary of helping with a position. There are people who will guide you.

Awards: Runners will bring you labels, and you will stick the labels on the corresponding medals/ribbons and place the awards in the correct team's bag.

Friday Finals 2 needed

Saturday Finals - 2 needed

Bullpen—This is a crucial position. You will get a lot of steps in during the AM Sessions. Ten-and-under swimmers will check in at the bullpen. Volunteers will organize them in seats by heat and lane. Then, volunteers will walk each heat to the blocks. The meet will only run correctly if adequately staffed in this position.

Friday 10 and Under Prelims - 6 needed

Friday Finals - 3 needed

Saturday 10 and Under Prelims - 7 needed

Saturday Finals - 4 needed

Clerk of Course - This is a cushy job. You get to sit in the shade! Runners will bring you the results from each preliminary event. You will tape them to the counter for 30 minutes. Swimmers will have 30 minutes to scratch from their event if they are not going to swim in finals. After 30 minutes, take the sheet and put it in the notebook.

Friday 10 and Under Prelims - 2 needed

Saturday 10 and Under Prelims - 2 needed

Saturday 11 and Older Prelims - 1 needed

Hospitality: Keep drinks on ice. Every 10 minutes, bring rolling coolers around the deck to ensure coaches, officials, and timers are hydrated.

Friday 11 and Older Prelims - 2 needed

Friday Finals - 2 needed

Saturday 10 and Under Prelims - 1 needed

Saturday Finals - 3 needed

Runner: After every heat, pick up the DQ slips from the officials and deliver them to the head official. Also, pick up the lane timer sheet after every heat and give it to the timing table. Of course, the results will be picked up, delivered to the clerk, and posted on the wall.

Friday 11 and Older Prelims - 2 needed

Saturday 10 and Under Prelims - 1 needed
