Tracy Acosta Head Coach

Head Coach 

Coach Tracy has been with Tomball Area Swim Club since its inception in 2012 and currently serves as a Head Coach working on deck with athletes in the National, Senior and Pre-Senior practice groups. Coach Tracy oversees the development and growth of all athletes on the team. She is also responsible for the training and development of the coaches who work with those athletes. Coach Tracy has over 15 years of experience in competitive swimming; working in team adminstration, officiating and coaching.

In the past 6 years of coaching with TASC she has coached TAGS finalists, Sectionals finalists, Junior National and US Open qualifiers.  In 2022 she served as the 11-12 girls coach for Team Gulf at the annual Duel in the Pool meet with Illinois and Indiana.

In addition to her role with TASC she also volunteers her time as the Head Coach of both the Willow Wood and Grand Lakes JH swim teams for Tomball ISD as well as volunteering as the lead Adminsitrative Official for both the Tomball High School and Tomball Memorial High School swim teams. She actively participates in the Northwest Aquatic League during the summer by overseeing the operations of the Tomball Summer League Team and has previously served on the executive boards of both the Northpointe Shockwaves and Imperial Oaks Seals. She is a Red Cross certified lifeguard and holds a Level 3 certification with the American Swim Coaches Association.

In her personal life she is the mother to four children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ranging in ages from 12 to 23. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, binge watching science fiction shows, and running. Her passion is developing young athletes and motivating them both in and out of the pool.

 

Daniel Sautural Head Diving Coach

Tomball Area Swim Club is excited to welcome Coach Sautural as our Head Dive Coach begining January 2021. Coach Sautural has over 29 years of diving experience with 21 of those years as a Texas Age Group and Junior Olympic Diving Coach.  He has coached numerous Texas State 4A & 5A Qualifiers and Champions with many going on to compete at the collegiate level.  Coach Sautural was voted Texas State Girls Diving Coach of the Year from 2007 - 2012 and Boys Diving Coach of the Year from 2007-2009 and 2011.  You can find Coach Sautural's full list of diving accomplishments HERE.

Karla Harms Head Age Group Coach

Coach Karla grew up in Houston and began competitively swimming at the age of 5 for NWAL. Her love for swimming expanded at 8 when she joined (previously known as) ATEX Swimming and later SST under Rick Mills. She swam for Klein Forest High School and was a distance swimmer and backstroker.
Though she did not swim in college, Coach Karla continued to train under various Master's groups and after her first child began training for Triathlon's, mostly for the swim portion of races. She has completed 8 Sprint Triathlon's and realized swimming is where her passion lies. In 2018, she decided to veer toward coaching to share her knowledge and love for the sport. In 2019, Karla became the Head Coach for Falcon Point Swim Team in Katy and had a very successful season.

Coach Karla joined the TASC coaching staff in May of 2022 as an age group coach and has since led multiple swimmers to Gulf Age Group Champs (GAGS) and Texas Age Group Championship (TAGS) cuts.  Coach Karla takes on the role of Head Age Group Coach with the start of the 2024 Long Course Season and will oversee the development and progression of both athletes and coaches in the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Age Group I/II and Elite programs.  


Coach Karla has two children, Audrey (13) and Tyler (11) who are both athletes on the TASC swim team. She loves everything water related and spends her free time either in her own pool or at the lake with her family. Karla is Level 3 ASCA Certified.

 
Glenn Ellis Age Group Coach

Coach Glenn joins TASC at the start of the 2024 long course season with over 10 years of coaching experience. Most recently Coach Glenn served as the head coach for the Duncan Dragons YMCA/USA Swim Team leading them to multiple top 5 YMCA state finishes including a 2nd place finish while also leading them to multiple top 3 regional finishes. During the Dragons inaugural year of USA swimming he helped to develop GAGS qualifiers and Southern Senior qualifiers. In recent years he has also worked closely with many TASC swimmers as an assistant coach for the Northpointe Shockwaves NWAL summer league team, assisting them to multiple successful seasons.  We are excited to have Glenn as part of the team and look forward to seeing him bring a fresh burst of energy and excitement to our crew.

Ashley Acosta Age Group Coach

Coach Ashley has been a member of the TASC Coaching staff since 2017.  Ashley has a natural gift for working with young swimmers and works hard to see them succeed in the sport.  Ashley is a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard and has been coaching for over 8 years.  She has worked for Tomball ISD, Tomball Summer League and The City of Tomball teaching young athletes how to swim and compete.  Ashley began competing at the age of 7 for the Imperial Oaks Seals and was the first swimmer to join Tomball Area Swim Club in 2012.  She swam all four years of high school for the varsity team at Tomball Memorial, where she served as team captain her senior year, helping lead the team to the State Championship Meet multiple years.  Ashley is a graduate of the University of Houston and 4th grade teacher for Spring Branch ISD.

Kaitlyn Bosquez Assistant Age Group Coach

Coach Kaitlyn comes to TASC with 13 years of competitive swimming experience as both a swimmer and parent.  Coach Kaitlyn began swimming at the young age of 5 in her hometown of South Bend, Indiana for her school district team where she continued swimming until her freshman year of high school.  At the age of 15 Kaitlyn made the move to Austin, TX where she joined Nitro Swimming and continued to swim until she suffered a shoulder injury at the age of 18.  Soon after, she moved to Houston where she met and married her husband.  Together they have four children, two girls and two boys.   Kaitlyn is looking forward to her first year in coaching the sport she loves so much.

Sara Gilstrap Assistant Age Group Coach

Coach Sara joined the TASC staff in the fall of 2023 as a swim lessons coordinator where she has enjoyed helping children learn to swim and finds joy in it.  Coach Sara currently serves as a Developmental Age Group Coach for our Gold and Silver practice groups.  Coach Sara served in the Air Force as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard, where “Excellence in all we do” was the standard she had to live up too. She has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, and a MBA from the University of Houston Downtown. Over the years she has served as an official for USA Swimming, NWAL, and TISDO. She has one daughter who swims and dives for TASC, and multiple exchange students over the past years that have also swam competitivly. 
 
In her free time Sara volunteers in the community with The Mission Continues. She was 1 of 75 women selected nationally to participate in the Women Veterans Leadersip Program. She belives in trying new things, so you might see her out on her motorcycle when not at the pool.  Sara is Level 2 ASCA Certified and a certified Red Cross Lifeguard.

Coach Kinsey has always had a love for the water and swimming from a very young age. She began competitively swimming at the age of 12 for the Tomball Junior High School swim team, as well as becoming a year round swimmer for TASC. After making Varsity her freshman year of high school, she continued her swim career all the way through her senior year, and even served as a volunteer coach for the TISD junior high swim program.

Being a volunteer coach, along with helping to teach little ones in her family to swim, helped her find her passion for coaching. In May of 2020 she began her TASC career, as a learn to swim instructor, working mostly with young swimmers who were very timid in the water helping them to overcome their fear of water and become competent swimmers. 

In the fall of 2023 Coach Kinsey was promoted to a Developmental Age Group Coach, and is now currently coaching athletes in our Gold and Silver programs.

Coach Kara grew up in the water and swam competitively until high school. She enjoyed swimming for her neighborhood summer league team when she was little and started swimming for Cy-Fair Swim Club when she was 10. Kara is a graduate of Texas A&M University, with a degree in Child Professional Services and is currently pursuing her masters degree in Christian Counseling.

While attending college she coached for Aggie Swim Club and for the City of College Station’s summer league team, Tsunamis. She has also been lifeguarding for eight years and holds an LGI certification.

When she is not working on school, or coaching kids, she loves to workout and spend time with her family! Coach Kara is excited to work with the swimmers and help them have fun while achieving their goals!

Mrs. Aubele has been with Tomball Area Swim Club since 2018, first as a swim mom for her five amazing children and more recently joining the staff as a site coordinator for our learn to swim program in 2021.  As our lead site coordinator she manages small group and private lessons for athletes in the stroke development program with TASC, assisting families with registration and scheduling needs within the program.

Over the years she has given her time to the Tomball Memorial High School Swim Team as a team mom, overseeing hospitality for swim meets and team functions.  She spends her summers volunteering for Lakewood Lightning summer league swim team, organizing group practices and swim lessons.  Mrs. Aubele has a degree in marine biology and loves sharks; most especially the hammerhead shark.  And in her free time prefers swimming in the ocean.

Scott McCracken Team Founder and President

Scott is the founder of Tomball Area Swim Club and oversees all business operations of the TASC swim program.  

Scott is a Tomball native and started his swimming career at the age of 5 with the Heatherwood Hurricanes.  He swam all 4 years for Tomball High and still holds two records.  He went to TCU on a swimming scholarship and graduated with a degree in Finance. In 2008, he achieved a world ranking of 35th in the 50 Meter Free and competed in the US Olympic Trials.
 
The following youtube video is of Scott swimming the 50 Meter Freestyle in Nationals in 2007.  He is in lane 1.  He made a new record on this date of 19:99 seconds.  He later broke his 19:99 second record.
