The Ankeny Family YMCA is one of the 9 branches of the Greater Des Moines YMCA’s. The Ankeny YMCA opened in 1989 on the campus of Ankeny High School, creating the first comprehensive YMCA-school partnership in the nation. Our Ankeny branch offers a wide array of programs for both children and adults, including before- and after-school child care at nine area schools. The facility includes an eight-lane indoor pool, three racquetball courts, a fitness center, aerobics studio and a gymnasium. Child Watch is available for small children while their parents participate in programs.
