The Black Hawk Area Swim Team (BLST) was formed in 2001 with the merger of the Waterloo Sharks Swim Club and the Cedar Falls Swim Club.  Since that time BLST has been the leader in youth swimming in the Cedar Valley.  We currently have two full-time coaches on staff, Head Coach/Program Director Melissa Woltz and Assistant Coach Erik Pinter, along with (12) experienced assistant coaches providing exceptional levels of coaching, mentoring, and leadership for your athlete and family.  

Since 2001 BLST has continued the rich history of the Cedar Valley started by both the Waterloo Sharks and Cedar Falls Swim Club.  Our athletes have set numerous state records, 12 national records, qualified for every level of regional and national competition, and placed top eight at Zones, Sectionals, and top 16 at Summer National championships.  In addition, our local high school teams have won 5 state championships and we have had dozens of high school state champions as well as numerous individual and relay IASI champions since the formation of the club.
