Swim Meets

In Depth Pool Set up and Volunteer Descriptions

Meet Director: must be USA Swimming non-athlete and completed certification process. Organize the meet: invite, entries, volunteers, operation of meet day of and safety.

Official: must be USA Swimming non-athlete and completed certification process. Officiate: admin timing table, stroke and turn, starter, deck ref

Meet Marshal: 18+ years old, must complete USA Swimming training certification process. Safety position on deck. Meet briefing notes.

Volunteer Check-In: 18+ years old Check in all volunteers, give volunteers lanyard, provide simple directions/instructions. Position may also be Lost & Found and/or Hall Monitor.

Greeter/Admissions: 18+ years old Greet spectators & collect admission fee. Assist with directions for facility.

Head Timer: 18+ years old, support timers, assit timers with watch malfunctions and bathroom breaks.

Announcer: 16+ years old Announce races, athlete names and other meet information/announcements. Will be simulcasted/live stream.

Ready Wall/Clerk of Course: 16+ years old Assist/organize swimmers with heat and lane assignments who are "behind the blocks" about to swim in the next 2-3 heats.

Hospitality: 16+ years old Includes setup & break. Making sure items are well received & stocked: food handling & paper products.

Timer: 14+ years old, run a stopwatch, stop timing pad plunger and record time. Assist swimmers with verifying correct heat/lane assignments.

Runner: 14+ years old Assist admin table with collection of forms.

Concession Stand: 14+ years old cash handling, setup/breakdown & refilling of items to be sold.
