Indiana Swimming
Level 1

The South Bend Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the South Bend Swim Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each swimmer to the best of THEIR abilities.

Our minimum requirements: swimmers must be at least 6 years old and be able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards)

All of our groups are divided by age.  Each group is then divided by swimmer's abilites in practice.  We have had as many as 6 and as few as 3 different subgroups within each group

Group 1-This is our group for our swimmers ages 6-10.  The emphasis of this group is teaching and having fun.  We focus on teaching the four strokes, starts, and all the turns.  Our goal is to have swimmers leave practice every day with a smile and looking forward to their next one

Group 2-This is our group for swimmers ages 11-14.  The emphasis from this group is still teaching but we do it while increasing the training load.  This is the group where more intricate race strategies, accountability, and the value of hard work are taught.  All the while making sure each swimmer is  having fun and growing as an individual.

Group 3-This is our group for all high school aged swimmers and older.  The emphasis in this group is to swim fast, because swimming fast is fun.  We expect swimmers to attend every scheduled practice and to give their absolute best every day.
