Hello WVST Families!
We are excited for the 2024-2025 Winter Season! There are a lot of things to cover so please read carefully.
The WVST Board met in August and voted to increase each group’s monthly dues by $5.00. The fees for each group for the winter season will be Blue Group $100; Red Group $90; White Group $80. Like last year, regardless of start or end date, each swimmer is required to pay for the entire season (September through February). Payments can be made in monthly installments or lump sum for the season (lump sum payments made by September 16th and will receive a 10% discount). Siblings receive a $10/sibling discount, which is the same as in previous years. Parents of all swimmers will need to sign and return all pages in the “2024-2025 WVST Docs To Be Signed & Returned” attachment to the welcome email. Signed documents must be returned to Jennifer Cummins-Zuber, Rochelle Pepmeier, or Jake Alexander by Monday, September 16th.
To minimize monthly dues increases and allow WVST families to ask friends, family, and businesses to sponsor/assist swimmers financially, the Board voted to make the yearly calendar raffle fundraiser mandatory this year. While every family is encouraged to sell all the spaces on the calendar, there is a $300 buyout/minimum fundraiser amount. If you would like to have this amount split up and charged to your monthly dues, we are happy to set that up. More information about the calendar fundraiser will be available at the end of September.
SafeSport paperwork is included as an attachment to this welcome email, and the paperwork MUST be returned to Jennifer Cummins-Zuber, Rochelle Pepmeier, or Jake Alexander by September 16th, regardless of the date your child will be starting practice. That means that if your child isn’t starting until October, we still need the paperwork by September 16th. Jennifer or another Board member will be at the YMCA at the beginning and end of every practice from September 9th until September 16th to collect paperwork. Hard copies will be available at practice if you need them. Keep in mind your swimmer also needs to sign some of the documents. Completion of SafeSport paperwork is a USA Swimming requirement, and we spend too much time tracking it down throughout the season. NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE POOL AFTER SEPTEMBER 16th UNTIL SIGNED SAFE SPORT PAPERWORK HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
