Olson and Keck Shine at IMXtreme Games DCST’s Kylie Olson and Jensen Keck had very impressive results at the USA Swimming IM Xtreme Games in Indianapolis, IN. In order to enter this meet, swimmers had to have a certain minimum score in the USA Swimming IM Xtreme events; therefore, the competition was very exclusive. DCST Takes 2nd at Pleasant Prairie USS Meet DCST had an impressive second place finish at the Pleasant Prairie USS Meet. If you consider DCST only had 57 swimmers entered in the meet compared to Southwest Aquatic from Muskego, WI which won the meet with 163 swimmers, then finishing second was not too bad. For the meet, DCST had a very impressive 237 individual career best swims or a 56% improvement percentage. DCST scored 566 points compared to Rockford’s 567 and Freeport’s 70. DCST’s dual meet record is now 4 – 1 on the season. DCST Swimmer Ishimaru Signs with University of Illinois at Chicago Kei Ishimaru became the fourth DCST senior this year to make his college commitment. Kei has accepted a scholarship to swim at University of Illinois at Chicago. The Flames are a division 1 school who compete in the Horizon League. UIC’s men’s team finished 2nd last year at the conference championship meet.

DCST Take 2nd at Rockford Early Bird Invite DCST took second place to host Rockford at the Rockford Early Bird Invite. As a team, DCST had an off meet with only 15 new career best individual times out of 68 swims for a dismal 22% improvement rate. DCST Wins Triangular Meet DCST improved its dual meet record to 3 – 0 with a victory over Sage YMCA (McHenry) and Green County (Monroe, WI). DCST Swimmer Launer Signs with Northwestern Emily Launer became the third DCST senior this year to make her college commitment. Emily has accepted a scholarship to swim at Northwestern. The Wildcats are a division 1 school who compete in the Big Ten Conference. Northwestern’s women’s team finished 8th last year at the conference championship meet.

DCST Swimmers Gidaszewski and Isola sign with Illinois State Tara Gidaszewski and Sharon Isola become the first two DCST seniors this year to make their college commitments, and both swimmers have signed with Illinois State University. They will join DCST alumni, Valerie Jones, who is just starting her freshman year at Illinois State. The Illinois State Redbirds are a division 1 school who compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. Four DCST Swimmers Named to USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-American Team Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool.
