DCST Competes at Missouri Grand Prix DCST sent 5 swimmers to the Missouri Grand Prix at the University of Missouri. This meet was full of some the best swimmers in the world. DCST Wins Winter Classic The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team won their Winter Classic Meet with 4,228.5 points which was 1,658 points better than second place Dundee. Just as impressive as their margin of victory was the 366 individual life time best times DCST achieved at the meet. Sharks Devour DCST A severely outmanned DCST lost its first meet of the season to Leaning Tower. DCST only had 41 swimmers participate in the meet compared to Leaning Tower’s 133 swimmers. This huge swimmer advantage showed up in Leaning Tower’s 420.5 – 259.5 scoring advantage. On the positive side, the swimmers who did attend the meet performed extremely well. DCST Senior Swimmers Make College Commitments DCST senior swimmers Chad Thompson and Casey Jepsen have committed to swim for Xavier and Truman State University respectively. Thompson will be joining former DCST swimmer, David Gordon, who graduated in 2009 at Xavier. Xavier is a member of the Atlantic 10 conference as is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. DCST Looks Good in Winning Quad Meet After looking good for their team pictures on Saturday, DCST’s swimmers also looked very good in the pool. As a team, DCST had 153 lifetime best individual swims out of 292 swims, a 52% improvement rate. These time improvements were also good for 11 new District and 1 new Area qualifying times.
