DCST Looks for 9th Consecutive Conference Title DCST is looking to win its 9 th consecutive NCISC Conference Title on Saturday. A victory would also be DCST’s 15 th in the last 17 years. DCST Takes 3rd at Sheridan (Quincy) USS Meet DCST took 3 rd at the Sheridan USS meet finishing behind Columbia (MO) and Peoria. DCST had 161 lifetime best swims out of a total 370 swims for a respectable 44% improvement percentage. Both Columbia (90 swimmers) and Peoria (62 swimmers) had more swimmers than DCST (40 swimmers). DCST Walks over Trails of Algonquin The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) got back on the winning path on Thursday night with a 459 – 232 over the visiting Trails of Algonquin Swim Team. After two poor showings in their previous two meets, DCST showed some improvement with 88 lifetime best swims out of a total of 213 swims for a 41% improvement rate. Cary Barracudas Swim Past DCST DCST fell to 3 – 1 on the season with a 388 – 305 lost at Cary. DCST only had 35 swimmers who participated in the meet compared to 125 swimmers for Cary. In additions to the low turnout, DCST did not swim practically well with only 13 career best times out of 94 swims (14%). DCST Finishes 2nd at Sterling USS Meet At the Sterling USS Meet, DCST finished just 31 points behind first place Delta Aquatics (Oswego, IL). The margin of victory for Delta was close considering Delta had 158 more entries (428 – 270) in the meet than DCST. For the weekend, DCST had 145 life time best individual swims out of 228 total individual swims (64% improvement rate). DCST Swimmer Grant Alef Selected for Altitude Training Camp Congratulations to DCST Swimmer Grant Alef for being selected to attend the YMCA Altitude Training Camp at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Grant was one of 24 swimmers (12 girls, 12 Boys) selected to attend they camp based on their performance from last spring’s YMCA National Championship Meet. The camp runs from August 17 – August 22.
