Indiana Swimming

Bronze

The Bronze Group is our introductory group in the Elementary School Division. It serves as a launching pad to success, as swimmers begin their path with the competitive team. Most swimmers in this group have yet to achieve any Divisional cuts. These swimmers are working on improving their technique and endurance as they begin to gain experience competing.

Practices

The Bronze Group practices 4 times per week. While we recommend that swimmers in the Elementary School Division participate in multiple sports and activities, we encourage them to attend all practices offered to maximize both their progression and enjoyment of our team and sport. Swimmers in the Bronze Group are expected to maintain at least 50% practice attendance.

Meets

We encourage our swimmers in the Elementary School Division to dive into competition head first. Experience is the greatest teacher, and often, swimmers can learn much more about the sport and themselves at meets than they can at practice.  We recommend that swimmers attend as many meets as possible throughout the season. Additionally, swimmers are expected to compete in the highest championship meet for which they qualify.

Training Equipment

Swimmers are expected to bring the following equipment to practice each day:

  • Mesh Equipment Bag
  • Water Bottle
  • Kickboard
  • Fins (Long Blade)
  • Snorkel

Not all of this equipment is guaranteed to be used at every practice, but it can be used at any time so, ensure your swimmer has all the necessary equipment at every practice.
