Job Requirements

Northpark Riptide is a 100% volunteer organization. It takes parents' support to operate a swim team and effectively run swim meets. Parent participation is a requirement to have a swimmer on the team.

  • Each family is required to complete 10 "points" during the course of the season. You will be charged $100 for every point not completed. See the FULL JOB REQUIRMENT POLICY regarding jobs on our "About Riptide" page.

You can earn points with ANY mix of job as described below!

Some jobs are behind-the-scenes ("Org Jobs"), and you can claim a role by emailing our jobs coordinator (Sarah).

Some jobs are specific to an event or meet ("Meet Jobs"), and you can sign up for those using our online form as the slots are released.

Org Jobs:

  • Our "org" jobs are what make our team function! These behind-the-scenes roles are crucial to our success. Each org job counts for "job points" toward your required 10 points for the season.
  • To claim an org job - review the descriptions below, and contact Sarah directly via email ([email protected]) to tell her which role you are interested in. The descriptions below are NOT LINKS. There is nothing to "click" to sign up for. Email Sarah to clarify your interest - and she will confirm if the slot is yours!
  • If the job says "FULL" next to it... it means the position is already filled and is not available for the 2026 season.
  • Please note: Points are "awarded" after a job is completed succesfully as described. Just signing up for the job does not mean you automatically get the points.

Meet Jobs:

  • These are released as opportunities are available - some will be announced well in advance (for home meets) and sometimes we need to wait for the other team to tell us what they need!  You'll sign up through this website (a link will be posted in weekly emails).
  • The point value will be posted for each job listed (for example, a job that only takes 30 minutes will not have the same point value as a job that requires being there for 2 hours).
  • Please note the TIMES of your shift. Be sure to communicate this with your partner and family so they know that you'll be working at the meet during this time! The duration and arrival time can vary depending on the job!
  • Only one adult is needed to complete a job.
  • If you are flying solo as the adult in your family for the meet - we recommend buddying up with another family… you take a shift for the first half of the meet… and your buddy family takes the second shift… so you can help watch each other’s kids while one of you is doing their meet job.
