Please review the Calendar for the schedule of each group, swim meets, and upcoming events!

Scout Aquatics is a community based organization that develops athletes of all ages. The use of multiple groups allows for individualized coaching for each athlete during their time with the program.

Coaches dedicate significant time and attention to evaluating each swimmer’s progress. Group placements are determined based on a range of criteria including age, skill level, maturity, commitment, and overall readiness. All movement between groups is based on both skill and age progression and is made at the discretion of the Coaching staff, with the swimmer’s long-term development in mind.

Mini Scouts:

This group is designed for swimmers who have some swim lesson experience, but don’t have legal strokes. They are still working through concepts like side breathing, breaststroke, and butterfly,  but are water safe. Swimmers will begin to compete in intrasquad meets.

Little Scouts

This group is for swimmers who are new to competitive swimming but may have some experience with meets and practice settings. The focus is on learning the four competitive strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly—along with foundational skills such as reading the clock, circle swimming, proper push-offs, and sharing lanes with teammates. Dryland training begins at this level. While not required, swimmers are encouraged to participate in at least two meets per season, with the option to attend more. Most importantly, the emphasis is on having fun while developing a love for the sport.

Junior Scouts

Swimmers in this group have all four legal strokes and will continue to refine their technique. They begin developing strong training habits and learning the fundamentals of racing. Emphasis is placed on being a good teammate and giving their best effort both in and out of the pool. Swimmers are expected to attend meets throughout the season and will compete in a variety of coach-selected events. While technique remains the primary focus, practices will include longer sets and more intense kicking.

Prep Scouts:

This group is geared toward age-group swimmers with a higher level of commitment and experience. The focus is on preparing athletes for championship meets while continuing to reinforce stroke fundamentals. Practices will emphasize technique and healthy training habits, while also challenging swimmers with intervals and distances that push them to give their best effort.

Swimmers in this group are expected to prioritize attendance at both practices and meets throughout the season. They will compete in USA Swimming-sanctioned competitions. Practices are offered six days a week.

Senior Scouts:

This level is designed to prepare swimmers for high-level club competition and help them transition to high school swimming at LFHS. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining proper stroke technique while increasing training intensity. Swimmers will begin morning practices and incorporate more weight training into their dryland routine.

Athletes in this group are expected to compete in all events offered and serve as leaders within the team. They will represent Scout Aquatics at the highest levels of USA Swimming-sanctioned meets.
