SST 2023 Winter Regionals

SST showed up strong at the Illinois Swimming Championship Meet  at the Eisenhower Pool in Springfield for the 2023 Illinois Swimming Winter Regional Championship hosted by Red Raider Aquatics this past weekend.  

The Sheridan Swim Team is proud to announce the team results from the Winter Regionals.

First up for SST swimming Friday evening were Leo Wang capturing 2^nd Place in the 200 Fly and Declan Tierney took second place in the 500 free with a PR of 6:42.12. 

SST took the pool by STORM on Saturday Morning with Aaron Miller setting the pace earning 4^th place in the 500 free.  Sydney Hibbard followed in the 500 Free women 14 and under with a  6th place finish. 

Lane Steinkamp competed in the 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Free and 200 IM posting a PR.

Luke Miller also competed well in the 100 Fly, 50 free, 200 back, 200 Free, 1000 Free and the 200 IM.  He took 1^st place in the 100 back.

Maggie Mahoney took 1^st place in the 200 Fly - 1st place with a PR of 2:15.94. 

Brooklyn Biggs earned some more gold for Sheridan taking 1^st place in the 200 free, 100 IM, 200 IM and 50 back. 

Laynie Hart competed in the 100 and 200 breast.

Weston Reyburn  took 2^nd in the 100 Breast and posted a nice PR in his 200 IM earning 3^rd place. 

Lincoln Steinkamp had a great swim in the 50 Free placing in 6th place.

Owen Markert took the lead and finished strong in the 200 Breast with a 1^st place showing.

Ethan Steinkamp posted a PR in the 50 Free, 50 Back and 100 Back. 

Declan Tierney pushed in with state times and 1^st place in the 50 Back and 200 Free. 

CONGRATULATIONS to the SST Championship Team, way to show up and represent at the Winter Regionals.

Up next for SST is the 2023 Illinois Swimming State Championships sponsored by Speedo are hosted by the Academy Bullets Swim Club at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois March 2^nd to the 5^th and the 2023 Illinois Swimming Age Group Championships hosted by the Fox Valley Swim Team in Hobart, Indiana March 9^th to the 12^th.
