Great Waves Humility Team Pledge

 

  1. I will work my hardest in and out of the pool to make myself a better swimmer and person, so that I can help make Great Waves a better team.

  2. I will encourage others to work hard (as I have promised to do so) knowing that this will benefit them, their teammates, and ultimately our Team.

  3. I will not brag or boast of my times/accomplishments.

  4. I will encourage others when they are struggling. 

  5. I will understand that lifting up a teammate makes Great Waves stronger. That bragging about my accomplishments, knocking others down, only hurts the team. 

  6. Encouraging others, showing examples of overcoming struggles, and understanding that everyone works and succeeds at their own pace, will help build a stronger team.

  7. The main goal is to help, encourage, and challenge every Great Wave swimmer to be the best person and swimmer they can be. 

  8. Understand that I will have my time to “shine” and that my teammates will should and will too. I will not force people to notice my accomplishments by bragging and boasting. My hard work will speak for itself with times improving, and strength of character. 

  9. We will be the team people want to be, not the team people hate. We will be the team that people want to be a part of, not be exclusive with bad attitudes. We will be inclusive of all types of people. We will celebrate differences, we will help those struggling, we will share in each others successes.
