SWIM TEAM EVALUATIONS
New swimmers (aged 5-21) are invited to join the Ridley Area YMCA Swim Team, where our goal is keeping the sport fun while emphasizing the importance of goal setting, proper stroke technique and a good work ethic.
The evaluation process is as follows:
- 8 and unders swim one lap of each stroke
- 9-12 will swim two laps of each stroke
- 13 & up will swim four laps of each stroke.
Your child’s age is determined as of December 1 of the current year (Ex. if he/she turns 9 on December 2 they are an 8 & under).
Evaluations are free and swimmers only need to attend one session.
On the below google doc when you register there is a question of which Option you wish to be evaluated for A or B.
- A - Competitive (swimming on dual meet team is like summer league, difference is boys vs. boys & girls vs. girls.) Competitive swimmers will also be able to register for Invitational Meets.
- B - Non-Competitive (you can still compete in Invitationals, but you do not wish to be on our dual meet team).
Now just because you choose either Option does not mean we will have space in our Program; we will do our best to place as many swimmers as we can. Placement information will not come out until the 1st week of August.

Our staff will set up each family into TeamUnify, which is our online system for swim team. If you have TeamUnify already for summer or previous winter swim team please use the same email address as you can link your accounts.
