Name Chang and Website Announcement

On May 4th, the Illinois Missouri Area Committee was informed by the St. Louis District that they were formally requesting to leave the Illinois Missouri Area. The committee voted unanimously to allow the St. Louis District to leave to form their own Area and wish them the best of luck. With the departure of the St. Louis District the Committee voted to adopt a new name. Effective immediacy the Illinois Missouri Area will now be referred to as Illinois YMCA Swimming which is governed by the Illinois YMCA Swim Committee who hosts the Illinois YMCA State Swimming Championship.

Also with this change the domain for the state website is ilymcaswim.org.

The Illinois YMCA Swimming Committee and the YMCA Districts were established with the purpose of governing YMCA competitive swimming in the State of Illinois as well as conducting YMCA Swimming Championships. These Championships are governed by the current National YMCA "Rules That Govern YMCA Competitive Sports," the Rules Governing Illinois YMCA Swimming Competition and, to the extent not inconsistent with the foregoing and current USA Swimming Technical Rules.
