Swim Lessons Program
Seahawk Aquatics offers a full swim education to meet the needs of swimmers at any experience level. Our lessons curriculum teaches swimmers safety skills and love for the water while preparing them with the foundational skills needed to enter the sport.
Small-Group Lessons
Group lessons are a great way for kids to learn water safety while interacting with their instructors and peers. Our curriculum is designed to teach water safety and foundational skills for all four competitive strokes. The Seahawk Aquatics curriculum starts with the very basics of water adjustment, breath control, and floating, and builds skills through the development of whole strokes, all within a fun and exciting learning environment. This progression provides the foundation necessary for basic water safety and aquatic recreation, as well as for future competitive development. Each class is designed to ensure that every child receives quality time dedicated to their individual progress. No special equipment or supplies are needed to learn to swim - swim caps are recommended but optional - just bring a swimsuit, goggles, and a towel!
The following describes our lessons stations with the skills required to progress to the next station:
Station 1 - Breath Control: Demonstrate control and comfort with submersion and air exchange in a variety of positions
Station 2 - Balance: Demonstrate ability to float, change position, and manage air exchange on front and back
Station 3 - Kicking: Demonstrate ability to efficiently use the 3 competitive kick forms while managing air exchange
Station 4 - Whole stroke: Demonstrate an understanding of the timing and stroke patterns for all 4 competitive strokes
Each lesson is 30 minutes long, and swimmers attend one lesson per week for 4 weeks.
