SafeSport – What is it?

The U.S. Center for SafeSport (Center) is an organization created by Congress to protect athletes.  The Center is an independent organization headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and is separate from the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC). The Center is committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together in an atmosphere free of emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct.

Here at SPY Swimming, we strive to make our athlete's protection and safety our highest priority. By working together as coaches, swimmers, parents and volunteers, we can ensure all of our USA Swimming members are supported in a safe and dependable environment both in and out of the pool.

USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Protection Policy (MAAPP)

USA Swimming's top priority continues to be keeping our athletes safe. No form of abuse, including child sexual abuse, has a place in our sport. As a part of our continued commitment to safeguarding our athletes, USA Swimming has enacted enhancements to our Safe Sport policy and education requirements. MAAPP FAQs

Training:

Training our members in abuse prevention and mandatory reporting is just as important as creating policies. USA Swimming is required to provide regular and consistent training for all adults who interact with and have direct contact with minor athletes, including adult athletes. Starting Spring 2019, as a condition of participation, all athlete members ages 18 and over must complete Athlete Protection Training (APT).

SPY Swimming encourages all athletes, parents, and volunteers to complete the following training (via Zoom or independently) regardless of age:
