Stingray Newsletter - October 16, 2023
Good morning Stingray Nation,
Wow! What a great performance by the 20+ swimmers who entered the HVP IMX Challenge Meet this past weekend at Lakeland High School. This week in the pool:
Miniray/Bronze
Continued emphasis will be on rotary breathing in freestyle, backstroke finishes and streamline position off the walls. Please make sure to bring the necessary equipment to practice and be ready to listen to the coaches.
Silver
Great progress is being made in this group. Coaches will spend time with the swimmers on the breastroke pullout, underwater streamline kicking and flipturns this week. Again, make sure to have all equipment (especially when we are at North Farmington) and don’t forget your water bottle!
Gold/Senior
We will ramp up the yardage a bit this week and work on continuing to improve our underwaters. Building speed into turns, breath control off of the wall and changing speeds with stroke tempo will also be a focus this week. Test sets have been going well and we will have our distance set this week. In addition, there may be a turn stick day or two while we work on our turns and underwaters.
