We do require all inquiring and potential new members to undergo an evaluation. LCSC is a competitive swim club. We will accept beginners onto the swim team, but we are not a swim school or a learn to swim program. We do have requirements for each group and each swimmers is evaluated. Meeting the requirements for an evaluation does not mean automatic acceptance to the swim team. After an evaluation, the coach or coaches performing the evaluation will give their recommendation of either of the following:

 

1. Swimmers should pursue instruction through lessons or additional instruction. (Every team has different requirements for their team and swim groups within the team. Other clubs may offer more beginner levels or even learn to swim programs with their team.)

 

                                                                          OR

 

2. Swimmers will be designated to a group on the team. Each group is different. Swimmers are evaluated on numerous different skills. Age, ability, experience, and skill are all taken into account when swimmers are designated to a group. Groups do fill up, and swimmers will not be placed in a group that has open slots in another group out of convenience. If a group is full, potential members will be "wait listed" to the next session and/or until a spot becomes available. 

 

LCSC does give priority to returning members, then we will take on new members.
