Coaches and Directors
Coach Vince Gallant brings four decades of educating and coaching experience to the LCSC program. Raised in Michigan, with experience at every level of swimming (learn to swim, summer teams, year-round swimming, high school, college, and masters), Coach Vince has remained focused on year-round swimming, enjoying the process of working with aspiring swimmers, from rookie to elite athlete, helping them grow and excel in this great life-long sport.
Coach Paul started coaching as a beginners’ coach more than 30 years ago and since then has produced multiple state champions in all age groups. During his tenure as Head Coach at Lakers, he had the pleasure of coaching a youngster from age seven until his 14th birthday, resulting in him qualifying for USA Swimming Junior Nationals in the 800M freestyle, while winning the high point trophy at Central Zone Sectionals in 2016. Coach Paul joins LCSC by returning to his “roots” as a developmental coach. In the process, he has reminisced on all the factors that go into producing top age group swimmers ready to make it at the state and national level. Some of Coach Paul’s favorite quotes are “you can't get faster if you don't know how fast you are going,” and “you can't get better at dolphin kicking or efficiency if you are not counting your kicks or strokes.” Teaching swim math and teaching swimmers how to get their times from the earliest age is essential to their daily improvement. Once a swimmer is consistently getting their times and monitoring their own efficiency, Coach Paul is satisfied he has accomplished his goals as a coach.
