The Sailfish Swim Club (FISH) offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of Sailfish Swim Club (FISH) to offer specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to be the best swimmer. We are now doing our swim team in two locations: Walled Lake / Commerce Township and Livonia

Cost: Every swimmer pays a monthly fee according to their group placement. Each year, each swimmer pays a yearly fee for USA Swimming registration and team registration ($150 - $75 after March 1). Families with more than one swimmer will get a discount on the monthly fee as well as the yearly team registration fee. Discounts are also available for paying the entire monthly fee up front. Our fiscal year runs from Sept. 1-Aug. 31. Fees are not prorated.

| Walled Lake / Commerce Township Groups *Current schedule and practice site = WL Western Western HS, 600 Beck Rd. (near Pontiac Trail) *current: Walled Lake Western: M-F: Racers 5:30-6:15pm / Bronze 5:30-6:30pm / Silver 6:30-8pm / Gold 6:15-8:15pm Sat at Central: Gold 8am-10am / Silver 8am-10am / Bronze 9am-10am / Racers 9am-10am Sailfish Racers Group This is our entry level non-competitive group. A child needs to attempt to swim 25 yards freestyle to enter this group. In order to progress and get better kids in this group must attend all practices, however it is suggested at least 3 practices a week. This group will not compete in swim meets until they are able to progress into the Bronze Group. Racer Group Cost: $132/month ($90/year USA Swimming registration fee and $150 team reg. fee) Bronze Group This is our entry level group. An athlete needs to be able to swim 25 yards freestyle with rotary breathing and 25 backstroke to enter this group. In order to progress and get better kids in this group must attend all practices, however it is suggested at least 4 practices a week. Bronze Group Cost: $154/month (plus $90/year USA Swimming reg.fee and $150/year team reg.fee) Silver Group From the Bronze group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, creating endurance, and perfecting start and turn technique. This group emphasizes practice and swim meet attendance in order to progress and continue. This group swim in competitions for the IM Ready events. Silver Group Cost: $176/month (plus $90/year USA Swimming reg.fee and $150/year team reg.fee) Gold Group From the Silver group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the Silver Group move-up skills list. This group is exposed to higher level training while trying to prepare for the IM Xtreme races. A high level of practice attendance is expected. Competing at swim meets is expected at a rate of at least one per month. Gold Group Cost: $198/month (plus $90/year USA Swimming reg.fee and $150/year team reg.fee)
WALLED LAKE GROUP High School Group - ages 14-18 - Cost $110/month (plus USA Swimming Yearly fee and $150 yearly team fee) High School group is for those who have other activities going on during the school year and can only participate in practice 1-3 days a week. $100/month plus USA Swimming registration required. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATERFORD GROUPS (COACH BRAD) Waterford Mott high school (Address: 1151 Scott Lake Rd, Waterford Twp, MI 48328): Starting Monday 8/11, workout times change: Performance group ; Dryland 4:30 -5:15, swim 5:15 - 7-15 pm Advnce/Edurance and Developmental groups: Swim 5:45 - 7:15 pm Explorer group: swim 5:30 - 6:30 pm ------------------------------------------------------ Starting Monday Nov 24, we will be adjusting our workout times to work with the Boys High School and Combined Middle School teams, Performance group: Dryland will be 5:30 - 6:30 pm, swimming 6:30 -8:30 pm Advance/Endurance (5 days/wk) and Development (3 days/wk) : Swimming 7:00 - 8:30 pm Explorer (2 days/wk) : 6:30 - 7:30 pm There will be exceptions to this schedule, when there home swim meets, usually on Thursday, we will have early workout, before the swim meet, 3:15- 4:45 pm This schedule will run until the end of January, when the Middle school season ends ------------------------------------------------- Explorer : Swimmers who are able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) front crawl without stopping. Swimmers have knowledge of the four competitive strokes and swim them legally. Swimmers will train up to twice a week for an hour each practice. Training spends a lot of time working on stroke development. Criteria to move to "Development", is to successfully compete in a freestyle and backstroke events in a USA Swimming meet and a desire to develop better skills. Cost $154/month (plus USA Swimming yearly fee and $150 yearly team fee) Development : This is a development level for swimmers who can swim, legally, all four competitive strokes. Training will emphasize proper stroke technique, including starts, turns and stroke finishes. Swimmers will train up to three days per week for 1 1/2 hours each practice. Criteria to move to "Endurance", successfully complete in a butterfly, Backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle events in a USA meet. They also need to be able to hold 2:00 or better per 100 freestyle. Cost $176/month (plus USA Swimming yearly fee and $150 yearly team fee) Endurance/ Advanced : Endurance level swimmers move from development to building endurance. Swimmers who can successfully swim all four competitive strokes legally and can hold 1:30 per 100 or better. Training will emphasize proper stroke technique, including starts, turns and stroke finishes. Swimmers will train up to five days per week for 1 1/2 hours each practice. Advanced level swimmers who have mastered the basics from development level and can hold 1:30 per 100 or better. Continued work on proper stroke technique, endurance, and personal goal setting are key aspects of this level of training. These swimmers should be working toward state cuts. Swimmers train up to five days per week, for 1.5 hours each practice . Cost $198/month (plus USA Swimming yearly fee and $150 yearly team fee) Performance : This workout group is for State, Zone and Sectional, Junior National, and Senior National level athletes, and train up to seven days per week for 2.5 hours each practice. During the holiday and summer break from school they can take part in an additional 2 hours of AM practice time Monday-Friday.
