High Tides Swim Club Relay Policy

In High Tides Swim Club’s efforts to improve the swim meet experience for swimmers participating in relays, the Club is including an opt-out option for relay participation. During the registration process for the swim meet, a parent or guardian must type “no relays” in the comments section of meet registration. This will provide notification to the Club to not place the swimmer on a relay. If the “no relay” comment is not added, the head coach will attempt to assign the swimmer to a relay team. If a swimmer is assigned to a relay team, the meet fee of the relay is divided among the 4 relay swimmers.

If a swimmer is not able to participate in a relay for an excusable reason (illness, injury, etc.) and provides advanced notice to the Club, High Tides will do its best to find an alternate athlete. If an alternate athlete is unavailable to substitute in the relay, the meet fees will be billed to the originally assigned relay swimmers.

However, if the swimmer is a no-show or simply chooses not to participate in the relay, the total cost of the relay will be assigned to the no show swimmer.
