Harvest Classic update.
High Tides Families,
Final preparations are under way for our meet this weekend. Just a few things to let you know before the weekend gets started.
Swimmers are allowed to leave the pool deck during the meet (for food, to talk to parents, ect...), but I expect them to spend most of thier time on the pool deck, either getting ready to swim or cheering on their teammates. Our coaches will not search the building for a swimmer whose race is coming up - if they are not with the team we will not find them before their race. I also expect for our athletes to talk with their coach directly before and after each race for instructions, motivation, and feedback.
Parents are not allowed to be on the pool deck unless they are working as a volunteer for the meet. This is a USA Swimming rule that we all need ot follow to be in compliance with USA Swimming's Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP), and our insurance coverage.
Relay swimmers are determined by the coaches at the meet. There are a number of factors that go into deciding who will swim on the relays, and the initially listed swimmers are not necessarily the athletes that will be placed on the relay at the meet. Also, sometimes due to late entries or missing swimmers, we can add a team, or need to scratch a team from an event. All swimmers should be ready and excited to swim on our relays at a meet, and relays are usually the first set of races of each session.
There is a carbo feed at Qdoba tonight, from 7:00-8:30pm, our swimmers eat for $5, others can order their meal off the menu. Gold 1, Gold 2 and platinum practices will end a little early (7:20pm) so everyone has a chance to get there and eat.
We will be wearing black shirts on Saturday, and our new championship shirts on Sunday.
