Schedule changes and Meet signup update

Swimmers families,

There are a few things to update you on as we get into January.

Schedule updates – There will be home meets for the Tigershark boys this Thursday (Jan 9th) and next Tuesday, January 14th. On those days there will be a dryland session available for Gold 1, Gold 2, and Platinum athletes from 5:00-5:45pm. Community ed is offering open swim “Frozen Fridays” on Friday, January 10th, 24th and 31st. On those Fridays, practice groups that normally have practice will start early at 5:00pm, and end at about 6:40 to ready the pool for open swim at 7:00. Our online calendar has all of these scheduling updates included.

Upcoming Meet entries – The event files for the two upcoming meets, Mankato on January 26th and West Express on Febuary 7th and 8th, are now posted so events can be selected. There are many times when the meet has been opened for signup, but the event file has not been received from the host team. When this is the case, you will still be able to commit to the meet, but the specific events will not be listed. When the event file is sent out from the host, events will become available to select. It is a good idea to commit to a meet that you plan on attending, even if events are not listed to select. Deadline for the Mankato meet entries is January 13th, and for the West Express meet January 20th.

Mini meet next Monday – We will be holding a mini meet next Monday during practice. Mainly for our new swimmers, to get an idea of how a meet and races work, all Bronze and Silver swimmers will be participating in the meet. Practice for the Gold 1, Gold 2 and Platinum groups will still be held, but if there is a race you'd like to get up and swim, you are welcome to participate as well.
