ATHLETE PROTECTION TRAINING

All adult athletes (age 18+) and all non-athlete members of USA Swimming must complete the required Athete ProtectionTraining. This certification is required for all new and existing members including coaches, officials, chaperones, meet directors, board memebrs and adult athletes. Successful completion the training, on an annual basis, is now a membership requirement of adult athletes, and failure to complete it will result in an athlete’s inability to swim in a meet or at practice. This is the same membership requirement for all non-athlete members.

USA Swiming Learn Platform

The following steps have to be followed in order to access Learn Platform on USA Swimming website:

FOR ATHLETES: FOR PARENTS:

1. Visit www.usaswimming.org/learn

5. Select “Courses” at the top. 5. Select “Courses” at the top.
6. For athletes ages 12-18, click on the Safe Sport for Athletes course. 6. In Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sport, select “Add to Cart”.
7. For athletes over the age of 18, click on SafeSport Training for Adult Athletes. 7. Click “Checkout”.
8. Complete the course using the prompts.  8. Enter the requested billing address information and click “Order”. [Note: the course is free]
  9. Click “Dashboard”.
  10. Select the Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sport course to start.
  11. Complete the course using the prompts.
