Volunteer Job Descriptions SET UP Assist with setting up equipment, scoring booth, pool deck, concessions, and wherever help is needed. OFFICIAL *EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Please speak with a current official from the team if you'd like to pursue getting training and certification. ANNOUNCER Operates the Public Address System, announces events/heats/results, scratchtable. COLORADO TIMING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR *EXPERIENCE REQUIRED* – A minimum of (3) training sessions under the direction of the Admin Official. Works in the upper booth on the Colorado electronic timing system. HYTEK OPERATOR *EXPERIENCE REQUIRED* – A minimum of (3) training sessions under the direction of the Admin Official. Works in the upper booth on the computer along side the head official to mrun the swim meet software. MEET GREETER/MEET STAFF CHECK-IN AND POINT PERSON FOR VOLUNTEERS Handle sign-in and sign-out and be a point person for the entire session. Being familiar with various positions is preferred. MEET RUNNER Pick up timer sheets after events and brings to scoring booth and collects individual lane times from timers when needed by scoring booth. Posts meet results. SIGN IN/SIGN-OUT & PROGRAM SALES Verifies volunteers sign in and out and sells meet programs, if applicable. Assigns marshals to various positions. CLEAN UP Helps clean-up the pool deck after the meet. Helps pack away team equipment. CONCESSIONS Run concession stand – selling food & drink items. Help set up and clean up concessions. CONCESSIONS CASHIER *Must be 18 years old or older for this position* Help set up concessions. Handle money transactions for concessions. Help concessions selling items. Help clean up concessions. Maintains inventory of food and beverage needs throughout the session. HEAD TIMER *Experience preferred* Coordinates all lane timers/clipboards/pencils/watches. Serves as back up to timers by starting 2 stop watches for every race. TIMER Must attend timer’s meeting usually held 30 minutes prior to start of meet/session. Times all races in assigned lane for the session. BACK UP WORKER/TIMER Stand/stay near announcer’s table during session being visible to head timer and fill in as timer and/or other positions as needed. MEET MARSHAL Monitors the pool deck to ensure only swimmers, official, coaches, and volunteers are on deck. Monitors the stands for safety. HOSPITALITY Assist with set up/clean-up of the hospitality room, monitor the room during the meet, and maintain adequate food. |
