HEAD COACHES

Lloyd Larsen 
Head Coach & Program Director
National Senior Lead Coach
 
Lloyd has been coaching for 34 years. This is his 22nd year (44th season) with Foxjets. Lloyd is an ASCA Certified Level 5 Coach. He has coached swimmers from the younger levels through Junior Nationals, US Open, US Nationals and US Olympic Trial qualifiers. Most recently, one of his swimmers made the 2023 World Junior Championships to represent Team USA. Lloyd has coached over 100 Nationally-Ranked swimmers (Top 10 or Top 16), including several National Age Group #1 Rankings and Record Holders. USA Swimming selected him as an assistant coach for the elite Central Zone Select Camp. Active in the coaching profession, he has been a featured speaker at the ASCA World Coaches Clinic as well as ASCA Coach Mentors program.  Lloyd was also an accomplished athlete with many years of swimming with AAU, Edina High School, St. Olaf College and post-collegiate swimming in the military. At St. Olaf, he was an MIAC Conference Champion, NCAA Division III National Qualifier and Co-Captain.
 
Lloyd believes that developing life skills and fostering personal growth are the key roles of youth athletics.  He leads our team with our Core Values of Integrity, Family, Attitude, and Ambition.  Lloyd's primary coaching duties are with the National Team, while also serving as the team's administrator and program director.
 
Ryan Clausman

This is Coach Ryan's 8th year (16th season) with Foxjets.  Ryan has coached country club, high school, and masters swimming along with his club coaching. Immediately after college, he started coaching for the Edina Swim Club and then made his way to be Head Age Group Coach at Foxjets. He primarily coaches the National Age Group and oversees the entire Age Group and Developmental programs.
 
Under Ryan's guidance athletes have achieved:
>  Numerous National Age group Top 16 swims
>  200+ Central Zones Qualifying Times
>  4 Age Group Team State Championships as Head Age Group Coach
>  Minnesota Age Group Coach of The Year 1998
 
Ryan has been coaching swimming for over 20 years.  He enjoys photography, skiing and paddle sports.  He stays busy raising 3 beautiful children with his wife, Mellanie.
 
Brian Nagel 
Head Development Coach
Red and Age Group Prep Lead Coach
 
This is Brian's 12th year (23rd season) with Foxjets Swim Team. He brings 20+ years of coaching experience in Minnesota swimming. He was also the Bloomington Jefferson High School Girls assistant coach for two years. Before beginning his coaching career in 1998, Brian swam competitively for 15 years with the Richfield Swim Club, Barracuda Aquatics Club, and the Bloomington Kennedy High School for four years.  He was also a member of the Team Minnesota Zone coaching staff in 2007.  Brian believes that perfecting technique and individual effort, coupled with team support, will give the swimmer a long successful swimming career.

LEAD COACHES

Marissa Wolff  Silver 2
Coach Marissa, aka Coach Mo, is entering her third season at the helm of Silver 2. A Wisconsin native, Marissa moved to Minnesota to attend St. Olaf to earn her Bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science. While at St. Olaf, she was a mid-distant swimmer and a NCAA DIII championship meet qualifier while earning All-American honors. Coach mo believes the key to successfully swimming is rooted in fun and love for the sport.
 
Out of the pool, Marissa works as a project manager at a non-profit based in St. Paul. She lives in Richfield with her partner, Leif, and their two dogs, Mako and Luna, and cat, Ivory. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and renovating her house.
 
Matt Koken  Silver 1
Coach Matt joined the Foxjets Swim Team staff in the Fall of 2017 as an assistant coach and is returning for his 11th season. This will be his 2nd season as the lead coach of the Silver 1 group, after 4+ seasons as the Bronze lead coach. A Woodbury native, he swam for East Ridge High School and the South East Metro Sharks. Specializing in butterfly, he has won individual state titles, held a state record, and twice placed top 4 in high school state. He went on to attend the University of North Dakota, and was a four-year DI letter winner, earning his degrees in Marketing in 2016.

He currently Burnsville with his dog, Atlas, while working at Boston Scientific. His favorite part about coaching is the ability to give back to the sport that gave him so much and enjoys when swimmers realize their potential.
 
RJ Greseth  Bronze
Coach RJ brings patience, top tier teaching skills, and over 30 years of coaching experience. Coach Greseth started his coaching career in 1988 with West Express. He went on to be the head coach of two teams, Hutchinson High Tides and Peoria Area Water Wizards. RJ believes in fundamentals, commitment, and excellence.

Nick Remmes Age Group Gold
Coach Nick is entering his second season with the team. He is a Foxjet and Eden Prairie High school alum and graduated from the University of Iowa and earned his Master’s from Drake University. Nick loves to stay involved in all things swimming. He is currently the Aquatics Director at EPCC, a Foxjets Masters swimmer, and an active USA Swimming official. His coaching philosophy is to emphasize the giving of 100% effort.
 
Outside of the pool, Nick loves to bike, run, listen to podcasts + country music, and spend time with his dog! His favorite swimmer is Caeleb Dressel and loves cheering on all things Iowa Hawkeyes. Go Hawks!
 
Dave Cameron  Masters
Coach Dave has been coaching and growing Masters swimming in Minnesota for 24 years. Dave swam for Carleton College, where he was a 15-time all-conference swimmer in distance freestyle events. For 15 years, he led Minnesota Tri Masters, a tri-specific training group in St Louis Park, which is also where he gained the confidence in open-water swimming to do his first English Channel solo swim in 2004. Since then, he's done another Channel solo, multiple relays, and coached many other channel swimmers, including his son's team "The Shrieking Eels" in 2021.
 
Dave is the Coaching Director for Total Immersion worldwide, has been coaching and managing at YWCA Minneapolis for over 20 years, and coached one swimmer to the 2016 and 2020 Paralympic finals. Dave's practice thought is that if you don't know the point of what you're doing in practice, there may not be one.

ASSISTANT COACHES

Ryan Hurley
Coach Ryan was a national caliber swimmer with extensive experience and focus on technique, training, and competition.  He competed in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials, making finals in the 200 meter breaststroke in 2004 and 2008. He swam at the University of Virginia where he was a captain in 2007 and 2009, ACC Champion in the 200 yard breaststroke, and a two-time NCAA All-American. He still swims masters today, and recently completed Ironman Wisconsin.  
 
Ryan is excited to bring his experience to help the next generation of swimmer learn commitment, hard work, and personal development that go beyond the pool deck.  He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Keavy, and their rescue dog, Rio. 
 
Tim Walton
Coach Tim embarked on his coaching journey in 1984 upon relocating from England to Minnesota. During the period spanning 1984 to 1997, he served as the head coach for Edina Swim Club, contributing a total of 13 years to the Minneapolis Otters. His most recent coaching role involved a two-season stint as an assistant coach at the University of St. Thomas. Tim is renowned for his mastery of stroke technique, earning recognition as one of the premiere teaching coaches in the state. Beyond the pool deck, Tim finds joy in pursuits such as cooking, boating, biking, and exploring new destinations through travel.  
 
Andrea Peters
Coach Andrea is entering her second season on staff and is a Foxjets alum of 10 years! Prior to joining the team, she was a Foss Swim School instructor for three years. Andrea is an NDSU graduate, earning her degree in Psychology and Child Development.
 
When not at the pool, Andrea loves spending time with her dog, Auggie, especially at the park! Her favorite part about coaching is the ability to help swimmers reach their goals and make new friends!
 
Tyler Gerst
Coach Tyler joined the staff after spending 4 years as a volunteer assistant at the University of Minnesota. Prior to that, he spent time at California State Bakersfield, the University of Minnesota, and the Twin Cities Swim team. His favorite part about coaching is that swimming is both an individual and team sport, which allows swimmers to connect and learn from other athletes and coaches.
As a Brooklyn Center native, Tyler's favorite most proud accomplishment is qualifying for State in 8th grade for Osseo High School.
 
He earned his Bachelor's in Sport Management at the University of Minnesota and now works in sales for a building materials manufacturer. In true Minnesota fashion, Tyler learned to walk and ice skate in the same year. He enjoys water weather fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and spending time with his dog, Dixon.

Lindsey Bouffleur
Coach Lindsey just completed her first season with Foxjets working with the Red and Age Group prep groups. Lindsey grew up in La Crescent, MN and Onalaska, WI (neither of which had high school swim teams back in the 90’s). As a swimmer, her best events were the  100 Butterfly (in which she placed 8th in the 1998 Wisconsin YMCA State Championships), the 100 Backstroke, and the 200/400 IM. One of her top swimming accomplishments was competing in the 1998 YMCA Long Course National Championships in Nashville, TN.
 
Lindsey loves working with kids, and currently works as a full-time building reserve teacher at Cedar Ridge Elementary school in Eden Prairie. Her favorite part of coaching is getting to know the athletes and watching them improve and have fun! In her free time, she enjoys anything creative, and spending time outdoors with her husband and three sons. You can still find her swimming laps more than 20 years after she stopped swimming competitively. She loves being at the pool and feels it has been a privilege to be able to watch others discover their passion for this challenging and rewarding sport.
 
Charli Miller
Coach Charli is starting her second year coaching with Foxjets. She is a former Foxjet swimmer and currently attends Georgia Tech, studying Chemistry and Spanish on a pre-medicine track. She has loved being able to stay involved with swimming during college, and currently serves as the secretary for the Georgia Tech Swim Club. Outside of the pool, Charli loves to read, stay active, and spend time outside. Her favorite part about coaching is helping kids improve and reach their goals while learning valuable life lessons along the way.
