Practice Group Information

Swim Team

Our club has four training groups based on age and skill level. New swimmers are evaluated and placed where they can succeed, and group changes are a normal part of progress. We trust our coaches’ expertise in these decisions, and any questions should be directed to the primary coach of your swimmer’s group.

Vikings ($120/month): Ages 6–12. Vikings focus on building a love for the sport while developing strong stroke technique. Swimmers work on learning new strokes, improving form, and building muscle memory in a positive and encouraging environment.

Gladiators ($145/month): Gladiators refine stroke technique while building a strong aerobic foundation. Swimmers also work on flip turns, competition starts, breath control, and begin strength and power training to prepare for higher-level competition.

Spartans ($155/month): Designed for advanced swimmers, Spartans focus on race pace training, aerobic conditioning, while building mental and physical resilience. Regular practice attendance is strongly encouraged to support continued growth and readiness for competition.

Warriors ($165/month): Our most elite group, Warriors follow the same training emphasis as Spartans but at a higher skill level. Swimmers in this group are expected to attend all weekly practices and commit fully to the demands of advanced competition training.

Masters ($50/month): Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings from 5:30–6:45 AM. This group is perfect for adults interested in recreational lap swimming, fitness training, or preparing for competition.

Group Placement

New swimmers are assigned to practice groups by our coaching staff based on a mix of factors: age, physical and emotional maturity, skill level, aerobic conditioning, experience, and commitment level. Rest assured, our experienced coaches make these decisions with your child’s long-term development in mind.

Group Progression Summary

Our philosophy centers on developing well-rounded swimmers proficient in all strokes and distances. We emphasize correct technique from the start. As swimmers build a strong technical foundation, they progress to groups matching their age, skill, and commitment. Training increasingly focuses on aerobic development, with a long-term view of enhancing performance over long distances. Advanced groups introduce appropriate anaerobic training, with competition strategies and goal-oriented approaches.

Group Advancement Protocols

Advancement is initiated by the swimmer’s primary coach, in consultation with the Head Coach. If approved, families will be informed about the change. Any adjustments to training fees will be communicated by the team administrator.

Parental Guidance on Group Advancement

We want to support every swimmer's growth in a way that builds confidence, skill, and long term success. Here are a few key points for parents to keep in mind:

  • Encourage your child to discuss group placement and advancement with their primary coach
  • Focus on skill mastery rather than group advancement
  • Advancement depends on readiness, not social reasons
  • Consistent practice and meet attendance are key factors
  • Developement is not always linear; their are multiple paths
  • Schedule appointments with coaches for detailed discussions rather than email
  • Patience is key; long term growth matters most

  • Swimmers joining will be half of the monthly cost of each group per family. When registering it will charge per swimmer, but we will refund the additional charges back to you.

  • REGISTRATION FEE ALSO INCLUDES:

Access to team equipment + Team cap & Group specific cap if applicable

COMPETITIVE DUES

At Team Triumph, we offer a range of training groups tailored to different ages, skill levels, and training goals. Because of variations in training regimens, training equipment, and coaches needed per group, monthly dues will be different and subject to change. To ensure your swimmer is placed in the right group and you receive accurate cost information, we invite you to contact us directly. Our team is happy to walk you through group placement, training expectations, and associated fees. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information—we’re here to help!

Swim Lesson Fees

  • Swim Lesson = $50/session for current team members (30-Minute in water session)

DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS

  • Account balances are expected to be paid by the 15th of the month. Fees past due will be charged a late fee of $15.00 per month if they are unpaid.

  • Any families with accounts over 90 days past due will be placed on Cancelled status (which includes not participating in any Team Triumph activities, meets, or practices). The family shall be liable for all court costs and attorney’s fees incurred in collecting delinquent accounts.

  • All outstanding accounts must be paid in full before a swimmer can be re-registered with the team. Outstanding balances are subject to legal action if not paid in full.

USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION FEE

  • This non-refundable fee, paid directly to USA Swimming, establishes the swimmer’s amateur status as a competitive swimmer and provides insurance coverage during swim practice sessions and meets.

  • Swimmers will pay $82 for the calendar year.

  • All swimmers, new and returning, must register or re-register with USA Swimming for the upcoming calendar year at Fall registration.

USA SWIMMING TRANSFER FEE

  • The USA mandatory transfer fee of $5 covers the cost of transferring membership to Team Triumph from another team. When a swimmer transfers to Team Triumph in the middle of the year, this fee takes the place of the annual $80 USA registration fee.

  • This only applies to swimmers with a current USA Swimming membership transferring from another USA swim team.

REFERRALS

  • For each new swimmer that your family refers to Team Triumph, you will receive a credit of 1-month swim dues (single swimmer). When a new family joins the team, they must notify a coach in order to receive the credit.

MEET FEES

  • Team Triumph charges an event fee for every event entered by each swimmer in a swim meet equal to the event fee charged by the host team plus $3.00. In addition, if any surcharges are assessed by a meet host, facility, or otherwise for a particular swim meet, Team Triumph will add an additional $10 to cover coaching staff cost.

  • Once meet fees are billed to Team Triumph, all of the above applicable fees will be billed regardless of whether the swimmer attends the meet. Fees cannot be refunded for any reason.

  • Team Triumph charges a $25 fee per swimmer for requesting late entry into a swim meet or event changes after the passage of the deadline.

  • Swimmers are automatically entered into all Missouri Valley championship meets (district and conference championships) for which they qualify. Accounts may be billed unless coaches are notified by the parents that their swimmer will not be attending.

LEAVING THE TEAM

  • Should your swimmer decide to quit the team for any reason, the team should be notified, in writing, by the person responsible for the account. An email must be sent by the 20th of the month prior to leaving. A $10 service fee may be charged if notification is given after the 20th of the month prior to leaving.
