Interest in Joining ACE
The Aquatic Club of Elkhorn (ACE) is a year-round competitive swim team. Our swimmers train at Common Ground in Elkhorn and also at the Eppley Recreation Center located on the Omaha Home for Boys campus, located north of the Happy Hollow area.
Our organization is not a swim lessons program. Youth who tryout for our team have completed the highest level of swimming lessons available. Swimmers should be very comfortable in deep water and have a willingness to improve their swimming technique for racing.
We gather information year round for those who are interested in joining our competition based ACE swim team. Our tryout coordinator will periodically reach out through the year to those who have expressed interest in having their swimmer tryout for the ACE swim team when our groups have availability to accept new swimmers.

How to sign up for the ACE tryouts
Step 1
Complete the interest form for your swimmer.
(Note, this link will take you to a Google form. Please fill out all the questions to the best of your ability. If the questions are not completed, you will not be placed on our tryout list.)
Step 2
Our ACE swim tryouts coordinator will contact you when we set up the next swim evaluations at the Common Ground Community Center pool with our coaching staff.
For those swimmers new to the sport of competitive swimming and wish to be considered for the ACE team should be:
• Comfortable being in deep water without holding on to the side or ropes.
• Knows how to swim Freestyle and Backstroke without stopping at the wall or on the lane ropes to rest
• Preferably can swim Breaststroke & Butterfly, however can be in progress of learning and refining these strokes.
• Comfortable diving off the side of the pool.
• Able to complete a flip turn or in progress of learning a flipturn.
Participation in our tryouts does not guarantee of placement on the team.
Members of the ACE swim team are expected to adhere to practice attendance requirements, as well as participation in USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets. Our parents are obligated to actively participate a certain number of hours as MeetCREW volunteers at our hosted swim meets.
