ACE Coaching Staff
Anthony Miles Interim Head Coach
David Harris Coach

Dave was born and raised in Omaha where he started his swimming career at Westridge Pool when he was 8.  He swam with the Ram Swim Club, Westside High School, and a stint at the University of Wyoming before moving on to major in Music Education & Coaching.

As a swimmer, Dave swam lots of fun local meets, many regionals meets (currently Sectionals), and Junior Nationals.  He swam and placed in all four of his high school’s State Championship meets, winning the 100 fly and 200 medley relay his senior year, and was a part of his school’s 200 medley relay record.

Dave started coaching when he was a freshman in high school with the pre-competitive program at Westside, coached summer league during high school and college, and started club and high school coaching right out of college in 1990.

He has had the privilege of coaching many levels and abilities of swimmers.  He has had the honor of coaching kids at local meets and championships, high school state championships, All-Star and Zone championships, Sectional champs, Junior Nationals, and the US Open.  He and some of his swimmers have received multiple stroke awards, and he was inducted into the Nebraska Metro Swimming Hall of Fame in 2018.

Somewhere in all of this, he has had the opportunity to coach all three of his children (and still does).  He also gets to coach side by side on the same staff as his wife (though, in different groups) and has for many years.  Swimming is good.  Life is good.

Meg Harris Coach

Meg has always loved being in the water, and her dad introduced her to basic stroke skills at a young age. She found a summer swim team and began competitive swimming at age 11. She swam all 4 years at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, did a stint with Des Moines Swim Federation, and swam a season at the University of Northern Iowa as a member of their traveling team.

Meg taught swim lessons while in high school, and in 2009 began to teach swimming again when she joined the staff at Barb Graeve Swim School here in Omaha. She stayed there for over 6 years and taught swimming at all levels from infant to adult. She also trained and managed staff for BGSS's summer lesson program. Meg became certified by the United States Swim School Association in teaching infant/toddler swimming as well as teaching swimmers with special abilities. For 3 years she had the opportunity to coach a special abilities athlete for the Regional and State Special Olympic swim meets.

In 2016, Meg went out on her own teaching swim lessons and by 2019 had become owner of Splash Lab Swim School. She continues to offer year-round lessons to multiple swimmers from infant/toddler to swim team prep.

In the summer of 2011, Meg joined Westridge Pool's swim team as an assistant coach. In 2014, she took over as co-head coach and co-coordinator of the team. She coached 8 seasons with the Waterstorm. Her rec league experience led to her position on the board of Greater Omaha Swim League for 4 seasons.

Meg joined the coaching staff of Swim Omaha/Omaha Westside Swim Club in August of 2015 working with several age groups. In the fall of 2021, she joined iNspire Swim Team as an age group coach and was the head age group coach in her last year with the club. This August she joined the coaching staff of ACE.

She met Dave Harris at a swim meet, and they were married in 1999. They have 3 children - Mac (living and working in Minnesota), Natalie (Elite group, swimming at the University of Northern Iowa) and Olivia (Gold group, swimming at Westside High School).

Swimming is Coach Meg’s passion. She enjoys building relationships with her students and swimmers and making water time a “party in the pool.” She hopes her swimmers’ lessons and team experiences will lead to a lifetime of enjoying being in and around the pool.
