On Thursday evening, with a week still left to gather pledges, we reached our initial Swim-A-Thon goal of $25,000 ! According to USA Swimming, this places us 16th in the country (currently). They also tell us that $30,000 will put us in the TOP 10 NATIONALLY. Outstanding !! All the swimmers and parents should be proud of the job they have done. Even more exciting is the race between the Elephants, Squirrels and Turtles (E.S.T.) Less than $100 separates the teams now with the Turtles holding a slim lead over...

We are halfway to our goal of $25,000. Keep dreaming of those prizes and get out there to collect your pledges. Don't forget the pledges you can collect with your paper pledge sheet. Take this around to local businesses and neighbors. It is all tax decuctible and you are actually earning everything you make by swimming hard. Sponsors love this about the Swim-A-Thon, especially when you tell them your goal of number of lengths to swim. The Swim-A-Thon teams (Elephants, Squirrels and Turtles) will be posted by this weekend and...

It was an amazing week here in Palo Alto. Kyra finished 89th in the 100 backstroke, from 111th coming in. She also made her second Junior National cut here in a 50 Free time trial. But the week was far more than that. She got to see, and swim with/against the best 18-u swimmers in the country. The meet has been extremely fast, with a number of meet records falling this week. I'm extremely proud of how she handled herself this week- she kept calm, was very aware of her...

Day One and a Half of Our Mystical Adventures in Pennsylvania: Everyone used their best efforts to swim great. We are all enjoying ourselves under a giant tent. Lots of us- Sophie, Corinne, Izzy, Connar, Zach, Jill, and Morganne- swam the 100m freestyle yesterday morning. Jill made finals, and ended up placing sixth for 15 and Over girls! YAY! Although she was the only EST swimmer with an individual event at night, Izzy got to swim a second time when she tied for first alternate. Fifteen minutes after her first...

A very good morning for Exeter swimmers... the first session of Zones saw all 8 EST swimmers in action. Jill Sarazen was our only finalist (in the 100 free) but many of the Exeter athletes will swim relays tonight. In California, Kyra Sarazen time trialed the 50 freestyle and cut .7 off her time to go 26.95 and made her 2nd Junior national qualifying time. Check back later tonight for a Zones update and to see Kyra swim the 100 backstroke in tomorrow's prelim sessions, click here: http://www.usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=2146&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en (The picture...

Hey everyone, it's Kyra again :) This morning, I swam the 50 Free during time trials and got a best time of 26.95, making my second junior national cut! Kelsi (from the NJ team that visited us in June) swam the 100 fly this morning in 1:03.30 which wasn't a best time and unfortunately she didn't make finals. She made the C final last night in the 100 free and came in third in her heat with a time of 57.27 missing her first Olympic trial cut by .2. The...
