Announcement of 2022-2023 Swimming Year Fees
LCAT Families,
The new swim season is upon us and we officially kick off the 2022-2023 Swimming Year on September 1! For your planning and reference purposes, please read below for the updated fees established by USA Swimming, New Mexico Swimming, and Las Cruces Aquatic Team. Each of these fees will go into effect on September 1, 2022. Please read carefully to note any fee changes that affect you and/or your swimmer.
USA Swimming Membership
All LCAT swimmers, coaches, officials, and board members are required to have a current USA Swimming membership. Beginning September 1, all USA Swimming membership fees will now paid by individual members through a USA Swimming online portal specific to our team; these fees will not be collected by and paid through LCAT anymore. Once purchased, membership will be valid through August 31, 2023. We will be sending out our team’s unique registration link with detailed instructions this coming weekend (after the new registration system goes live and we have a chance to test it).
- Premium Athlete Membership - annual fee of $78 (this includes $10 which goes directly to New Mexico Swimming)
- Flex Athlete Membership - annual fee of $30 (this includes $10 which goes directly to New Mexico Swimming; open to 12 & under swimmers only and limits swimmers to a maximum of 2 meets for the year unless upgraded to Premium)
- Season 2 Athlete Membership - annual fee of $40 (this includes $10 which goes directly to New Mexico Swimming; membership valid beginning April 4, 2023)
- Coach/Official/Board Member - annual fee of $78 (this includes $10 which goes directly to New Mexico Swimming)
New Mexico Swimming Membership
New Mexico Swimming collects its membership fees directly from USA Swimming at the time the individual membership is purchased using the online portal ($10 per individual membership and $30 per team membership).

All families are encouraged to attend the Annual Membership Meeting & Picnic on September 18 if you’d like to hear a full briefing on LCAT’s finances from our Treasurer.

- Annual fundraising obligation per family - $300 ($150 due by Mar 1 and $150 by Aug 1)

Swim Meets
As a reminder, when swimmers participate in swim meets, there are associated fees in addition to the above listed membership fees. Fees for swim meets are set by the meet hosts and usually include a surcharge that goes directly to the governing body (such as New Mexico Swimming), a facility surcharge (to offset the cost of the team renting the facility), and individual event entry fees based on the number of races your swimmer competes in during the meet. All relay fees are subsidized by LCAT. When you commit your swimmer to the meet, you are committing to pay the meet fees published in the accompanying meet announcement document regardless if your swimmer attends/competes. Accounts will be billed the week immediately following the swim meet.
Financial Aid
Need-based financial aid is available for USA Swimming and New Mexico Swimming membership. New Mexico Swimming also offers both need-based and performance-based aid for fees associated with competing in certain swim meets. In addition, LCAT offers need-based scholarships for monthly dues. If you would like any information on these available programs, please do not hesitate to email [email protected], where all inquiries will be kept confidential.
We are so excited for the new year and we’re so happy to have you all a part of the team. Let’s go LCAT!
Sincerely,
Jeanette Skow
Board President
Las Cruces Aquatic Team
