This Week At NTN
Below is information for this week at NTN. Please read over the information as it contains important information.
The Importance of Practice Attendance
One of the most critical factors in your swimmer’s success is consistent practice attendance. Swimming is a sport that thrives on regular repetition and steady progress. While we have had a few scheduled days off due to water polo tournaments, we have also noticed a higher number of missed practices recently, particularly over the past two Saturdays.
Here are several reasons why consistent attendance is so important:
- Skill Development – Strong technique is built through regular practice. Each session reinforces stroke mechanics, starts, and turns, helping swimmers avoid bad habits.
- Fitness & Conditioning – Swimming requires endurance, strength, and speed. Missed practices make it harder for athletes to maintain conditioning and keep pace with their training group.
- Muscle Memory & Consistency – Repetition allows movements to become automatic, enabling swimmers to perform with confidence under race conditions.
- Team Commitment – Regular attendance demonstrates dedication to the team and fosters a positive training environment where athletes motivate one another to improve.
- Progress Toward Goals – Consistent training gives swimmers the best chance to achieve personal best times, meet qualifying standards, and reach long-term goals.
- Injury Prevention – Maintaining steady training loads helps prevent overuse injuries that can occur when athletes return after extended absences.
- Life Skills – Attendance builds discipline, accountability, and time management—valuable skills that benefit swimmers both in and out of the pool.
In short, consistent practice attendance is the foundation for improvement and long-term success in swimming. Thank you for supporting your swimmer in making attendance a priority.

Proper Attire For Swim Practices – IMPORTANT!!
We have noticed during the beginning of the season that some swimmers are not coming to practice in the proper attire for swimming, mostly in our Junior groups.
- Boys should wear Speedo Jammers or Briefs.
- Girls should wear Speedo Swimsuit.
- No T-shirts – Shirts become heavy and can cause concern of safety.
- Swim Caps – We would like for all swimmers to wear a NTN cap for practice.
- Proper Fitting Goggles – Please check that your swimmers goggles(preferably Speedo) fit correctly.
