Jason Roberts – Head Coach & Program Director

Coach Jason Roberts brings over two decades of proven leadership in competitive swimming, a nationally recognized record of excellence, and a deep commitment to developing swimmer-centered programs focused on long-term growth and success.
Most recently, Jason served as the Director of Competitive Swimming at Countryside YMCA (Ohio), where he led a staff of 14 coaches and guided the program to outstanding success at both the state and national levels. Under his leadership, the team produced YMCA National Champions, set over 40 team and league records, and achieved sustained program growth.
Prior to Countryside YMCA, Jason was the Head Coach at Team Foxjet (Minnesota) and the Northern Kentucky Clippers, where he coached 16 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifiers, multiple USA Swimming National Team members, and numerous nationally ranked athletes.
Throughout his career, Jason has successfully managed programs of over 300 swimmers, developed comprehensive dryland and strength programs, and worked collaboratively with boards, staff, and volunteers to ensure organizational excellence. His teams have been nationally ranked as high as 30th in the country.
A respected leader within the sport, Jason has served on the USA Swimming Senior Development Committee and coached for the USA Junior National and National Team Coaches List. He holds a degree in Physical Education and Health from Northern Kentucky University. Jason is known for his professionalism, energy, and unwavering dedication to helping every athlete reach their fullest potential both in and out of the pool.
Jim Smith – Lead Coach

Coach Jim Smith holds ASCA Level 4 Achievement and Level 5 Education certifications and brings nearly 40 years of coaching experience at every level of competitive swimming. He has served as a head coach, team owner, head age group coach, and assistant coach, guiding athletes to success at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Senior Nationals, Junior Nationals, Futures Championships, Sectionals, and LSC Championships.
Jim has developed athletes who achieved #1 national rankings, Top-10 and Top-100 all-time performances, and set LSC records in Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas. His contributions to stroke cycle efficiency and tempo training were recognized in a 2012 publication, and in 2020, he was honored as one of ASCA’s Top 50 Age Group Coaches.
In 2021, Jim led the Texas Ford Aquatics 13–14 girls to a TAGS Short Course Championship, with the boys placing in the Top 5 and the team finishing 4th overall. He has also contributed to programs earning USA Swimming Silver and Bronze Club Excellence Medals.
Beyond the pool, Jim has served in key leadership roles, including Age Group Vice-Chair and Legislative Vice-Chair in his LSC, where he chaired committees, developed athlete programs, and authored impactful legislation.
Giovanni Copioli – Lead Coach

Coach Giovanni “Gio” Copioli began coaching while in college, leading swim lessons and Masters programs—an experience that sparked his passion for teaching technique and fostering a love for swimming.
A standout athlete, Gio competed for Rockwall-Heath High School at the state level, for the Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence (RACE) at the national level, and collegiately for Seattle University. Prior to NTN, he coached with Prosper Aquatic Club, where he helped develop both new and experienced swimmers into technically proficient and confident athletes.
Gio’s coaching philosophy centers on building sound technical habits, promoting consistency, and developing complete athletes. He is excited to bring his energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to the North Texas Nadadores and help guide the next generation of champions.
Travis Floyd – Assistant Coach

Coach Travis Floyd is a Texas native who grew up swimming for COM Aquatics in Midland, TX. He continued his swimming career at the University of Missouri, where he was a First-Team Academic All-American and qualified for NCAAs, U.S. Nationals, the U.S. Open, and the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Travis brings his high-level competitive experience and passion for performance to NTN, where he assists with the Senior and National Groups. His focus is on developing athletes’ technical precision, mental resilience, and championship mindset.
Harry Traystman – Lead Coach

Coach Harry Traystman brings over a decade of experience developing competitive swimmers from age-group to collegiate levels. Known for his technical expertise and athlete-centered approach, Harry has guided swimmers to NCAA Division I and II scholarships, national-level meets, and record-setting performances.
A former NCAA and NJCAA All-American and team captain, Harry combines a performance-driven mindset with individualized training plans focused on technique, race strategy, and long-term growth. His experience includes leading programs of over 125 athletes at Sandhills Sand Sharks, producing NCAA-bound swimmers, and coaching at Trinity College, where he helped the team earn its first NCAA qualifier in 35 years.
Harry holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Queens University of Charlotte, where he swam under Olympic Coach David Marsh. His coaching is grounded in passion, purpose, and a belief that great athletes are built through consistency, confidence, and care.
