Team Structure

The North Texas Nadadores is a year-round swim club that practices at the Elise Cerami Aquatic Center in Southlake, Texas.  NTN is a member of USA-Swimming, North Texas Swimming, and the Texas Swim Association.  USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the Olympic committee.  NTN provides opportunities to swimmers from Novice level to the National stage. We are here to support every level of swimmers and give them the experience they deserve.

The North Texas Nadadores are also known as NTN.

For additional support, NTN has a parent booster club.  The NTN Parent Club is a nonprofit support organization that helps to ensure swimmers have a great all-around activity.  The parent club holds meetings to organize meets, support the coaching staff, and organize team activities such as the annual banquet and holiday events.

NTN Family Service Requirement

 Volunteer Philosophy:

The hosting of swim meets, and our annual swim-a-thon are fundraising opportunities. The proceeds generated from our hosted events directly benefit NTN and the Elise Cerami Aquatic Center. These volunteer requirements apply to ALL families whether or not your swimmer swims in any, all, or none of the meets.

Family Service Requirement:

For the 2025-2026 (August through July) season, each family must work a total of Four (4) sessions. A session is approximately 4 hours long but may be shorter or longer depending on the job. Each session worked equal to one credit except for Safety Marshals, who earn 1½ credits. Families may sign-up for any NTN hosted volunteer positions that fit your schedule. All families are required to volunteer even if your swimmer does not swim during any of the meets. It is your responsibility to verify the hours worked after each meet and to make sure your hours worked are correct. Any corrections need to be reported to the volunteer coordinator. If you sign up to work a shift and fail to show up without notifying the volunteer coordinator at [email protected] BEFORE your shift begins (i.e. have a last minute emergency), a credit will be deducted from your account. Volunteer sessions are only applicable to events that are hosted by and benefit NTN.  Social events that require parental help and participation do NOT qualify as volunteer sessions unless specifically designated as such. There will be a $250 fee assessed for each credit under not earned.

Volunteering is an integral part of your child's swimming experience. Working at a meet can be a fun and rewarding experience.  There is a $1,000 opt out fee if you absolutely cannot volunteer, but we really need each family to volunteer. We are always in need of parents who are Certified Officials, Timers, Safety Marshalls, and Hy-Tek users, just to name a few! You may speak with our Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested in receiving training on any of these other meet administration positions. Most of the volunteer positions do not require official training.

Volunteer Signups:

To sign-up for a session at work, go to the NTN Homepage.  Each NTN family has a unique login.  Once logged in, go to Meets/Events page and find the meet or event you want to work.  Press the job sign-up button and select the job and session you want to work. Please put in the notation the name of the person working on your session. Please check the volunteer descriptions and age requirements for all positions as some positions require prior training. After signing up, make a note of the tentative times for each session and when you are required to be at the meet. Please be aware that these times may get adjusted based on meet timeline changes. Once at the meet please check in with the volunteer coordinator.

USA Swimming Volunteer Officials:

NTN will reimburse for the USAS registration but must notify our treasurer.

Discipline Plan

Being a USA Swimming Club and a Safe Sport certified team, NTN follows USA Swimming policies on bullying, misbehavior, and athlete protection. You can find all our model action policies  HERE

Unacceptable behavior at NTN Practices, competitions, and team functions that include, but are not limited to vandalism, being disruptive in practices or meets, abusive language or behavior, insubordination to members of the coaching staff, office staff, or others, and other acts of misconduct as determined by the coaching staff will be handled in the following manner.

  1. Coach warning and/or discipline (including but not limited to time-outs or clean-up duties).  Depending on the number and severity of incidents, it will determine when the coach goes to step #2.
  2. Parent contact and/or parent conference.
  3. Depending on the number and severity of incidents, a coach may put the athlete on a behavior plan and will be signed by both the athlete and parent.
  4. Suspension and/or dismissal for the team.

 Drug and Alcohol Policy

Drugs and Alcohol are a major concern threatening our nation’s youth.  The North Texas Nadadores wish to take a proactive approach concerning this issue with the young people in our program.  It is the coaching staff’s position that drugs, alcohol, vapes, and tobacco products have no place in athletics.  Hence, the goal of the North Texas Nadadores is to provide a drug and alcohol-free environment.  During team activities, a drug and/or alcohol violation can result in suspension or termination.

In consideration of this position, we ask that all swimmers read the NTN Code of Conduct.  Each swimmer and parent will be asked to sign this policy that was attached to your registration paperwork and renew this commitment annually.

Drop-off/Pick-up Swimmers Policy

The Aquatic Center staff and coaches are not responsible for unattended swimmers.   NTN is fortunate to be in what appears to be a safe area; however, there are several ways that children can be harmed if they are not properly supervised.  The crowd of unsupervised children seems to be increasingly more disruptive.  The Aquatic Center has the following policy in place:

Swimmers should be dropped off no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of practice and no later than 15 minutes after the end of practice.

Swimmers are not to be left unattended for more than 15 minutes.  During these 15 minutes, swimmers are not to be running in the hallways, playing on the elevators, or disturbing the coaches and patrons.  If circumstances arise that you cannot drop off or pick up your swimmer in this time frame, please make other arrangements for the drop off and pick up rather than just leaving your child unattended for long periods of time.

TEAM TRAVEL RULES

The coaching staff and chaperones hold the final word on any rules, regulations, or disciplinary action.

  1. No Team members may be out of their room after the assigned bedtime.  Permission must be obtained from the coach to leave the room past bedtime.
  2. At no time will male and female athletes be in the same room together with the door closed (unless the coach approves due to safety issues).  This applies to our athletes and other members of any team or organization.
  3. Swimmers are expected to always remain with the team during the trip.
  4. Swimmers are not to leave the competition venue, the hotel, a restaurant, or any other place at which the team has gathered without the permission/knowledge of the coach or chaperone.
  5. When visiting public places such as shopping malls, movie theaters, etc. swimmers will stay in groups of no less than three people. 12 & Under athletes will be accompanied by a chaperone.

  7. Athletes should not ride in a coach’s vehicle without another adult present who is of the same gender as the athlete.
  8. During overnight team travel, if athletes are paired with other athletes, they shall be of the same gender and should be of similar age. Where athletes are age 13 & over, chaperones and/or team managers would ideally stay in nearby rooms
  9. When only one athlete and one coach travel to a competition, a parent is required to attend with the athlete.
  10.  An NTN Athlete shall not be in possession, or use alcohol, smoke or chew tobacco, vape, or any illegal drug or substance.  During a team activity, an NTN Athlete cannot be in the presence of others who are either possessing or using the above substances.
  11. An NTN Athlete cannot break any other rules or laws established by other teams, organizations, or facilities.
  12. An NTN Athlete shall not vandalize, steal, destroy, or damage any property.  Any damage or theft incurred at team lodging will be at the expense of the swimmers assigned to that room.
  13. No loud or boisterous behavior will be tolerated in the hallways, public areas or hotel rooms.
  14. No long-distance phone calls on the hotel line. No movies, games or any other chargeable activity may be made without prior coach approval.
  15. All NTN swimmers will be polite in restaurants and leave at least an 18% tip.  If there is a problem with the service or food, see the coach.
  16. No team meetings may be missed.  Be punctual to all meetings and warm-up times.

Violating any of the above rules may result in a swimmer being sent home early (at his/her expense), suspension from further travel meets, and suspension from NTN team activities or dismissal from team.  The type and length of punishment will be based on the severity of the swimmer's actions.

North Texas Nadadores athletes and their parents will also be responsible for all fines and fees associated with their actions.  There will be no refund of dues or fees to North Texas Nadadores members during suspension or dismissal.
