Website Is A One Stop Shop For Information
We have received emails lately for people looking for information about meet schedule, meet information, billing and up to date news information. The website(not the sports engine app) is the place to find all information you need. Please take a moment and explore the website. Once we have updated information, we make sure it is posted on the website.
Sign-up For Meet
We encourage all swimmers to participate in our upcoming “Sharing The Harvest Meet.” This is a wonderful meet that we are proud to host each year, providing our athletes with an excellent opportunity to showcase their hard work and progress in competition. In addition, this event offers a great opportunity for parents to fulfill their volunteer hours(jobs not posted yet) while contributing to the success of our team. We look forward to seeing everyone come together to make this meet a rewarding experience for all.
Focus First: Why Swimmers Should Avoid Social Media When Studying
For competitive swimmers, success in the pool depends on a mix of talent, hard work, and discipline. But performance in school is just as important, and balancing academics with swimming can be challenging. One of the biggest obstacles for young athletes today is social media.
Studies show that even brief distractions from social media can significantly reduce focus and retention. For swimmers, this means that scrolling through feeds during homework or study time can undo hours of effort. Multitasking may feel efficient, but the brain cannot focus fully on studying while also processing notifications, messages, or social media updates.
Tips for Staying Focused:
- Set Study Blocks – Encourage swimmers to dedicate specific periods for homework and studying without any phone interruptions.
- Put the Phone Away – Keep phones in another room, on silent, or in a study drawer. Out of sight often means out of mind.
- Use Tools Wisely – If devices are needed for research, use apps or browser settings that block social media during study sessions.
- Reward Focused Effort – Allow short social media breaks after completing tasks to reinforce disciplined study habits.
By minimizing distractions and committing to focused study time, swimmers not only improve academic performance but also develop the same discipline and mental toughness that make them successful in the pool. Learning to manage attention now sets a foundation for success both in sports and in life.
