50/50 raffle info
Hi all,
Many of you received books of raffle tickets over the weekend. This will be one of our the club's major fundraisers over the swimming year.
Derek MacKinnon, who's organizing this year's draw, will be at the pool with more books of tickets on Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. You can also call or text him at 867-446-5840.
The draw will take place Feb. 10 at the pool.
As noted on the tickets, half the proceeds from each $5 ticket will go to the 50/50 winner. Of the remaining $2.50, $1.50 will go towards the club and $1 will go towards your fundraising quota, or if you've already met that, into your swimmer's travel fund. In other words, each book of 50 tickets will net $250 in cash, with $125 for the winner, $75 for the club and $50 for you. Please bring all of the proceeds to Derek and the club will credit your fundraising account.
We are aiming to get tables at various establishments in town where people can sell their tickets. Hold for details on that.

Fundraising review
A reminder that we are planning to review our fundraising policy this winter. For now, our primary goal is to offer parents ways to fundraise towards their overall swim club costs, and following that, towards the cost of travelling to meets. If you have strong feelings about this, drop me a note and I'll keep you informed of future discussions on the topic.
If you have an idea for a fundraiser and you'd like to get started, please also let me know and I'll get you in touch with our coordinator and other board members who can help you get started.
Swim-a-thon
Hold for details on the enormous distances swum at the swim-a-thon this weekend. Truly impressive stuff. Way to go kids and parents!
