Great weekend, everyone. We'll have swimming as usual on Monday and Wednesday.
Friday will be our last day of the season. We'll celebrate with the annual Toffee Gala, for all swimmers, running from 4 to 6:30 with pizza for all the kids.
Spring cleanup, car wash
Please join us Thursday, May 16, for the city spring cleanup. We'll be cleaning up garbage in two areas in Range Lake from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The meet-up location will be emailed out Wednesday. We'll provide the garbage bags and plastic gloves. If you'd prefer heavier gloves, please bring your own.
In return for all the cleaning, the city will donate money to our swimmers.

We also have a car wash scheduled for Saturday, June 15. We're looking for a second pressure washer if anyone has one to lend.
Money raised in both events will be split among swimmers who take part, towards their fundraising quota.
Great sportsmanship
There was a unique act of sportsmanship stemming from our amazing Mother's Day Meet.
Ten-year-old Eléonore MacPherson was awarded Gold in her age category. When she got home, she wondered how she managed to beat Louisa Henry, who came first in seven out of eight of her events. Sure enough, through a series of events, Eléonore discovered she'd been awarded points from an extra race.
She promptly took her gold medal over the Lou's house to pass it on. Watch the video on our club Facebook page. (If you're not a member of our YK Polar Bear Swim Club group please ask to join and we'll admit you.)
2022/2023 AGM delayed
We had planned to get this old AGM out of the way on Tuesday. In fact, we'll delay it once more as we wait for information from our accountant. We'll announce the date for this year's AGM shortly.
If you're interested in board activity, drop me a line anytime and I'll fill you in. A reminder that we are looking for someone to take over and/or double us as treasurer so we don't get so behind on our financials in the future. If you have any interest in helping out, please let me know!
